  • Patent number: 8611273
Abstract: A wireless communication method and apparatus are disclosed for assigning different phases, (i.e., time periods), to perform data transmissions over designated frequency bands in a cooperative relaying system. In phase 1, a relay station (RS) listens to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and successfully receives b information bits. In phase 2, the RS and WTRU cooperatively transmit these b information bits to the destination. These transmissions may be performed in a unicast scheme, wherein a WTRU sends information to a selected RS in phase 1, and the RS forwards the information to a base station (BS) in phase 2. The transmission may also be performed in a multicast scheme, wherein the WTRU sends information to the RS and the BS in phase 1, and the RS transmits a subset the information to the BS in phase 2.

The bandwidth available for data transmission may be better utilized, if the code (ID) is placed within the message (Ni), each message (Ni) is additionally provided with time information concerning the timeslot which may be extracted from the code, and at least one of the timeslots may be used for transmission of various messages in various cycles. In a preferred embodiment the information relating to the current cycle comprises an ordinal number. In the simplest case the number has two values 0 and 1.

Abstract: Provided is a Simple Aggregation Format (SAF) synchronization packet structure including a SAF synchronization packet header and a SAF synchronization packet payload and multiplexing diverse element streams which include a scene description elementary stream. The SAF synchronization packet header includes time information related to an access unit included in the SAF synchronization packet payload, and the SAF synchronization packet payload includes header information on the access unit and payload information indicating the access unit. Since the present invention can multiplex diverse elementary streams effectively and simply into one data stream, synchronized data transmission is possible. Since the present invention accommodates a synchronization layer packet of the MPEG-4 system, it can be easily integrated with the MPEG-4 system and utilize the advantage of the MPEG-4 synchronization layer packet such as the concept of an access unit or a degradation priority.

Abstract: Incoming signals that are sparse in the code-correlation domain, such as CDMA signal (GPS signals being a specific example of such signals) are processed by sampling the incoming signal at irregular time intervals at an average rate that is significantly lower than the Nyquist rate; which in the case of GPS signals is the chip rate of a pseudorandom code sequence that is embedded in the signal. The sampled signal is processed with locally generated signals that are also sampled the same irregular time intervals.

The method includes: allocating essential control information of a first system to a first sub-frame in a frame including a plurality of sub-frames each of which comprises a plurality of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols; and allocating essential control information of a second system to an nth sub-frame in a fixed position from the first sub-frame (where n is an integer satisfying n>1). Accordingly, in a frame supporting heterogeneous systems, essential control information can be fixedly allocated to a specific position while maintaining the number of system switching points, at which switching occurs between the systems, to one even if a radio resource allocation amount changes between the systems, and thus the essential control information that must be received by all user equipments can be effectively provided without the increase of overhead.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and device for sending a message in a physical uplink control channel. The present invention overcomes the problem that an index of the physical uplink control channel corresponding to a ACK/NACK message can not be represented implicitly in prior art by using the known downlink information, which includes an index of the control channel element where control signaling associated with downlink data is located and an index of a sub-frame where the downlink data is located. Therefore, the index of the physical uplink control channel where the ACK/NACK message associated with the downlink data is located can be represented and the ACK/NACK message can be sent in an appropriate physical uplink control channel.
