Abstract: A system uses reduced pressure to provide a therapeutic force to a person's breast area. The system includes a dressing assembly shaped and configured to be placed on the breast area, a releaseable circumferential connector for holding the dressing assembly against at least a portion of the breast area, and a sealing subsystem for providing a fluid seal over the dressing assembly against a person's epidermis. The system may further include a reduced-pressure subsystem for providing reduced pressure to the dressing assembly. When reduced pressure is supplied, the system generates a force against at least a portion of the breast area of the person. The dressing assembly may be formed as a brassiere having a first cup and a second cup formed from a bolster material.

Abstract: A woman's bra includes a back strap connected to the side panels of the bra. The back strap is either transparent or nude color or of a flesh color so that it would not be readily visible across the low cut back of a garment. The fastening structure which is used for permitting the garment to be worn by and removed from the woman is at a location other than the central portion of the back strap.

Abstract: A bra fastener designed for persons with a disability and/or partially incapacitated to be easily fastened independently with one hand, either left hand or right hand. The bra fastener includes a strip of material, bra slider hardware with hooks or bra slider hardware with eyes, hook-and-loop fastening material, and finger/thumb loops. The bra fastener may be used with any bra equipped with hook and eye fasteners allowing a wearer to more easily put on and take off the bra using only one hand.

Abstract: A garment for a post mastectomy surgery woman comprises a waistband fits about a waist of the woman. A strap is joined to the waistband to extend from the waistband at a side of the woman's surgery, up over a shoulder on a side opposite the surgery and down to the waistband on the surgery side. A bra cup is configured to fit about the woman's healthy breast. A first strap is configured to laterally join a first side of the bra cup to the strap on the woman's front. A second strap is configured to laterally join a second side of the bra cup to the strap on the woman's back. An elastic paneling is configured to join to the strap, the bottom side of the bra cup, the first strap, the second strap, and the waistband. The elastic paneling positions the bra cup to support the woman's healthy breast.

Abstract: A method is provided for forming a garment, including providing a fabric layer having sonically weldable material, the fabric layer having an inner surface and at least one opening region, the opening region having a periphery and an outer free edge, placing an elastic edge band having sonically weldable material around the entire periphery of the opening region, the edge band having first and second free edges and an inner surface, securing the first free edge of the edge band to the outer free edge of the opening region with a subsonic or ultrasonic edge weld to form a finished seamless edge along the opening region, and activating an adhesive along more than half of the inner surface of the edge band to secure the edge band and second free edge to the inner surface of the fabric layer.

Abstract: A necklace that does not fully encircle the neck of the user but, instead, has its two free ends with an affixing device at each free end to attach to the straps of the wearers garment or undergarment, such as a bra. In the preferred embodiment, the straps have a plurality of affixing devices vertically spaced along the strap so as to enable the user to position the necklace at differing heights on the wearer to suit the particular neckline of the attire worn by the user. The brassiere includes a modesty panel that is integrated to the design of the brassiere, but is also interchangeable with other modesty panels. The modesty panel can be selected from among a set of modesty panels. In this manner, a wearer may vary the look of an outfit or ensemble by using modesty panels of varying colors, fabrics, textures, or levels of modesty or daring. In various embodiments, the modesty panel is fastened to the brassiere using traditional hook and loop fasteners. In other various embodiments, the modesty panel may be fastened using hook material and corresponding loop material, or may be fastened using buttons or snap fasteners. Any other manner of fastening systems may be used to render the modesty panel combined with the brassiere as a single article of clothing.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved garment for capturing bodily fluids. In particular, embodiments of the present invention provide a garment including a main garment body configured to be worn by a wearer and a capturing panel having a receiving surface configured to receive bodily fluids excreted from the wearer attached to the main garment body such that the capturing panel covers at least a first portion of said main garment body. The capturing panel is made out of a natural material, has a thickness no greater than approximately 4 mm, and is configured to transfer bodily fluid received from the wearer away from the receiving surface. A fluid resistant treatment may be applied to at least a second portion of the main garment body, which second portion may be identical to the first portion. A odor-neutralizing treatment may be applied at least a portion of the capturing panel.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an accessory which is fabricated and shaped to cover the bosom area of body. It is particularly useful when applied to a brassiere showing a cleavage of a human body at a center thereof. The accessory, when applied to a brassiere will cover the cleavage area of a wearer to simulate an undergarment. The inventive accessory can be removed from the brassiere when the person is in a different social setting. The accessory can be fabricated from different materials but it is preferred to be stretchable so that it can be applied to differently sized brassieres and the accessory, additionally, can move with the movements of the wearer. It is preferred that the fabric of the accessory be doubled over so that most of the fastening elements do not touch the skin of the wearer which adds to the comfort of wearing the accessory.

Abstract: Novel aqueous polyurethane dispersions and adhesive films formed therefrom are provided. The aqueous polyurethane dispersions are provided in solvent-free systems of a prepolymer comprising at least one polyether or polyester polyol, a mixture of MDI isomers, and a diol. The adhesive films from such dispersions can be heat-activated for bonding, lamination, and adhesion of textile fabrics, including stretch fabrics.

The first and second edges are formed by sewing and the distance between the first and second edges is selected to be slightly less than the width of an object to be stored within the integral pouch. In addition, the top opening may be such that the length of the top opening is slightly less than the distance between the first and second edges.

Abstract: Silver coated nylon fibers are disclosed that can be used to make fabrics that are silver coated on one side of the fabric. Silver coated nylon fabrics provide an antimicrobial surface which remains on the surface and retains its antimicrobial characteristic until destroyed. The methods of adherence of the silver to the nylon fabric may be performed in a number of ways. The creation of a single fabric with one side silver coated and the other side being dyed or left natural is encompassed within this invention. In addition there can be more than two yarns creating the fabric such as the use of spandex to provide a more elastic garment.
