Here, a dose can be set by rotating the dosing element (34) relative to the housing (2) in a dose setting direction (s) and the dose can be dispensed by pushing the dosing element (34) towards the housing (2). Moreover, a method is provided for operating an injection device (1) for the administration of a fixed dose of a medication: A dose can be set by rotating a dosing element (34), a dose can be dispensed by pushing the dosing element (34) towards the housing (2) and a dose can be cancelled by rotating the dosing element (34) in a direction opposite to the dose setting direction (s).

Abstract: A hand-held remote for a medical fluid injector includes a syringe and a conduit which may be coupled to a pressure transducer on a control circuit of the injector. Movement of a plunger within a syringe body on the syringe creates a pressure which is sensed by the pressure transducer and the control circuit responds to the sensed pressure by causing fluid to be ejected from, or drawn into, a syringe mounted to the injector. The pressure developed by the remote provides tactile feedback to an operator for improved control over injections.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an automatic reconstitution drug delivery device. The inventive device effects simple and automatic reconstitution of a dry drug. To effect reconstitution, a user displaces a release button which causes first and second chambers of a drug cartridge to communicate, resulting in automatic mixing of a diluent and dry drug to effect reconstitution of the dry drug. The user then simply sets the dose volume using a dose-setting mechanism, and administers the injection in a manner typical of self-injection drug delivery devices. Whole or partial automatic priming can be also achieved by the device.
