Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for reliable intersystem message notification that can ensure reliable delivery of notification messages. The method includes the following steps: storing notification messages persistently; sending a new stored notification message or a retry notification message; and resending the notification message in an event that there is a failure of message notification. The described method and apparatus support multiple transmission protocols between different systems. The receiving party can reliably receive notification messages without implementing complicated interaction protocols. The present disclosure therefore is applicable for widespread use in the Internet. Moreover, the method and apparatus also supports multiple transaction processing, can be used as an universal business transaction application platform, and at the same time allows flexible expansion of multiple transactions and multiple protocols.

Abstract: The Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) and its related standards define a retransmission packet format and a way to give feedback via Negative ACKnowledge (NACK) packets for data that has been lost. In one embodiment, a unicast RTP repair session is associated with a main Source Specific Multicast (SSM) multicast session. Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP) NACK packets are then used for feedback to a SSM feedback target address. This dynamically instantiates unicast RTP repair for multicast sessions. The repair scheme can be used for repairing multicast channels or joining new multicast channels. In another embodiment, a media transmission device shares an IP address with one or more other media transmission devices. The shared IP address can also be used to route multiple identical multicast media streams to different media stream receivers.

Each task server provides an operating system which is constructed and arranged to locally run a respective task server process. The technique further involves receiving a workflow which includes a set of dependency-related predefined activities, and placing task identifiers in a queue structure based on the received workflow. An event is detected and converted into an interrupt signal. The interrupt signal is converted into a special interrupt character or symbol sequence. The special interrupt character or symbol sequence is embedded into a serial data stream at the next available character or symbol boundary and transmitted to a receiving controller. Abstract: Techniques are provided for leveraging narrowband connectivity (such as dial-up communications or other types of low bandwidth communications) to provision or configure broadband connectivity between a broadband access provider and a broadband device, such as a DSL modem or a cable modem. Specifically, because narrowband connectivity does not require advance configuration or provisioning by the host system of connectivity parameters for an access-seeking device, a modem at an access-seeking device may be leveraged to establish a narrowband connection between that device and a host system and to enable an exchange or negotiation of connectivity parameters necessary to enable future broadband connectivity. Thus, once established, the narrowband connection may be used as a conduit for communicating required provisioning information between the broadband-enabling host and the access-seeking device to enable broadband connectivity by the device in the future.

Abstract: A proxy apparatus and method for streaming media information via at least one network and for building-up a good quality version of the media information. When a user device communicates with the proxy apparatus using a particular bandwidth and requests that media information be provided, the proxy apparatus first determines if a version of the media information encoded for the user device's connection bandwidth has been stored in the proxy apparatus. If a version of the media information encoded for the user device's bandwidth is not available from the proxy apparatus, the proxy apparatus sends a request to a media server for the media information. If the version of the media information has missing packets, the proxy device sends retransmission requests to the media server to obtain the missing packets, thereby building-up a good quality version of the media information.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for HARQ timing control in wireless communication systems is disclosed. The apparatus and method provides one unified algorithm to determine HARQ timing, with consideration of the downlink-to-uplink ratio, the presence of legacy zones, support of relay zones, and variable transmission time interval length. The disclosed algorithm guarantees sufficient processing time, at both the transmit and receive sides. Further, retransmissions occur in a periodic manner, simplifying the implementation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for operating HARQ buffer. The method comprises: receiving HARQ ACK; keeping HARQ buffer in response to the reception of the HARQ ACK; and flushing the HARQ buffer in the case of receiving no PDCCH message for a predetermined duration. With the methods of the present invention, it is possible to prevent any resource waster due to continuously keep HARQ buffer and to prevent any potential collision in uplink data transmission.

Abstract: A method and system to improve the link budget of a wireless system using fast Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) protocol. In one embodiment of the invention, the Medium Access Control (MAC) logic in a base station determines whether the quality of the communication link with a mobile station is bad. When the MAC logic in the base station determines that the quality is bad, the base station uses a fast Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) protocol to indicate to the mobile station to send identical information to the base station in each of a plurality of successive or consecutive communication intervals before processing any received identical information from the mobile station. The fast HARQ protocol reduces the latency of receiving the identical information correctly, as compared with the current HARQ protocol.

Abstract: A transmitting unit divides a transmit data into a plurality of code blocks, and encodes each of the plurality of code blocks to generate a transmission signal. The transmitting unit transmits the transmission signal, and a receiving unit receives the transmission signal as a reception signal. The receiving unit receives performs an iterative decoding to each of the plurality of code blocks of the reception signal. The iterative decoding is terminated to a first code block group in which an error has not been detected before a first setting iteration count. The receiving unit, when being an error in the reception signal, transmits a retransmission request feedback data which contains a NACK data and a data indicating the first code block group to the transmitting unit. First resources are assigned for each of the plurality of code blocks of the transmission signal.
