Invisible Radiant Energy Responsive Electric Signalling Patents (Class 250/336.1)
  • Publication number: 20130277555
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for analyzing the output signal of a silicon drift detector (SDD). A SDD is used for detecting X-rays emitted by a sample as a result of impinging radiation. The signal of a SDD comprises a number of randomly spaced steps, in which the step height is a function of the energy of the detected X-ray photon. The variance in step height is a function of the averaging time that can be used to determine the plateau between steps: averaging over a short interval results in more uncertainty of the plateau value than a long interval. By according a weight factor, a function of the variance such that a step with low variance (high reliability) is associated with a larger weight factor than a step with high variance (low reliability), measurement values with a low variance are emphasized. This results in better resolved spectra.

Abstract: A self-referencing radiation detector to test the radiochemical purity of a sample radiopharmaceutical solution. In some embodiments, the self-referencing radiation detector measures the radioactivity of a sample radiopharmaceutical solution before the sample radiopharmaceutical solution is passed through a high performance liquid chromatography column. The radiation detector then measures the radioactivity of each separated molecularly distinct species from the high performance liquid chromatography column. The radiochemical purity of the sample radiopharmaceutical solution is calculated by comparing the measured radioactivity of separated molecularly distinct species from said high performance liquid chromatography column to the measured radioactivity of the sample radiopharmaceutical solution before the sample radiopharmaceutical solution is passed through the high performance liquid chromatography column.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a bi-directional image receptor assembly capable of receiving an image receptor in either a lengthways (or longitudinal) or crossways (or transverse) orientation, while maintaining the axis of an anti-scatter grid in a fixed position. The axis of the anti-scatter grid can be placed in a fixed orientation (such as a parallel orientation) to a subject's craniocaudal axis regardless of whether the image receptor is inserted in the lengthways or crossways orientation. Methods of using the bi-directional image receptor assembly in mobile radiography are also disclosed. The present disclosure further provides for an X-ray image receptor comprising a portion of an automatic position measurement system. Still further, the present disclosure provides for a cover comprising a reinforcing geometry that maximizes the strength of the cover while minimizing the thickness of the cover.

Abstract: An APS readout circuit includes a pixel sensing unit, an integrating unit, and a voltage offset unit. The pixel sensing unit senses an X-ray irradiation amount to obtain a current signal in varying. The current signal is obtained by subtracting a sensing current in varying from a base current. The integrating unit is coupled with the pixel sensing unit to receive the current signal and convert the current signal into a voltage signal. The integrating unit includes a short circuit switch with a switch-on state for resetting the integrating unit and a switch-off state for directly outputting the current signal. The voltage offset unit is connected to an output terminal of the integrating unit and generates an offset voltage. In a sampling period, a base voltage of the voltage signal output from the pixel sensing unit is substantially removed by the offset voltage. An amplified sensing voltage is then obtained.
