Abstract: An articulated watch band provided with a catch mechanism interconnected by hinge joints is disclosed. One catch part is formed with a recess and the other part is formed with an extension snugly fitting the recess. To secure the extension in position within the recess, the extension is provided at its lower side with a stop plate and at its upper side with a movable arresting plate corresponding in shape to the outline of the extension, so that upon angular displacement of the upper plate or upon shifting the same in longitudinal direction of the strap, the plate overlaps the rims of the recess in the receiving catch part and prevents the displacement of the extension in vertical direction relative to its upper surface. Hinge joints of the strap include hinge tubes which are secured to the associated links or catch parts by laser-beam welding.

Abstract: An improved expanding shoe drum brake (10) is provided. The brake includes a shaft-like mounting structure (42) for retaining the hook ends (40) of a heavy duty brake return spring (28). The retaining assembly includes a fixed portion (44) and an axially movable portion (46). The axially movable portion is normally abutting with the fixed portion but may be selectively axially moved away therefrom for assembly and disassembly of return spring (28) from the brake assembly (10).

Abstract: An assembly for holding and tensioning a webbing particularly useful in an article of furniture in which the webbing is adapted to be stressed by a person seated thereon. Male and female members are employed, the female member being fastened to a framework, and the male member being fastened to the webbing. The male member is positioned between side walls of the female member, and first and second abutment surfaces of each member engage each other in the assembly and are urged into engagement by the stress upon the webbing. The male member is levered into engagement with the female member.
