Abstract: This is a novel two-player board game which uses addition and subtraction to initiate the movement of a player's pieces. The game is comprised of two sections; each section consists of a plurality of spaces containing integers. The interior section is comprised of opposite sides separated by zeros, one side containing negative integers and the other positive. Pieces are provided to each player for separate use in the exterior and interior sections. Movement is initiated by positioning pieces in the exterior section on spaces whose integers produce a difference of two integers found in the interior section, thus enabling pieces to move from one space to another. The object of this game is to be the first player with all his/her pieces positioned within the interior section on spaces whose integers when added together equal zero.

Abstract: A turn-based strategic board game played on a gridded board with different strength piece types, wherein a player's higher strength piece is able to move or freeze an opposing player's lower strength piece. A player wins by moving one of his lowest strength pieces to the row farthest away from the winning player. The game board has one or more predetermined trap spaces wherein if a piece is on a trap space, then under certain conditions the piece will be removed from the game. Movement turns proceed in sequence among players. During a player's turn, the player may make optionally multiple moves, optionally divided among a plurality of the player's pieces. Initial setup involves each player placing his pieces in self-determined spaces of the player's first two board rows. Each waitress station includes tables wherein each player required to traverse the tables of its waitress station five times to complete five levels. Each level must be traversed within a predetermined period of time. Question cards must be answered by each player during that player's turn in order for the player's playing piece to proceed along tables of the player's station. Money awards are given for correctly answering the questions. The first player who completely traverses the tables for each level within the predetermined time period and accumulates more rewards than any other player, wins the game.

  • Patent number: 6485019
Abstract: Multiple playing levels in a stacked multilevel game, appear with unique indicia on different playing levels, and these indicia provide different pathways of movement for game pieces between multiple apertures which extend through the multiple playing levels. By switching the playing level relative to the game pieces, the situations and events faced by different players is altered. In a “book” format, switching playing levels is achieved simply by turning the pages forward or backward. Other formats include a “map” style, wherein different playing levels are secured to adjacent levels by folds in the game board, and a “stacked layer” style, wherein a plurality of playing levels are achieved by stacked layers.

Abstract: A board game is disclosed where, through a series of questions, players reveal various character traits to others, and learn various character traits of others, with the potential for finding compatibility between two or more of the players. The questions asked of a particular player are determined by the location of the player's game piece on a board including a plurality of sequential spaces. The spaces include some visual aspect to designate the space as belonging to one or more categories. A random number is obtained by a random number generator, such as a dice, and the player's piece is moved the number of spaces indicated by the generator. The player is then asked one or more questions or asked to perform an act, depending on the space on which the player's piece lands.

Abstract: A simulated baseball game uses conventional cubical dice to determine the outcome of each play. However, the specific rules and method of play of the present game provide an advantage to the player knowledgeable about the actual game of baseball, as that player is better able to judge various decision making points such as steal and hit and run attempts, taking pitches, etc. The present game thus provides an excellent teaching tool for a person learning the theory behind the actual game of baseball. The present game includes a playing field (tangible structure, or electronic video representation) representing an exemplary baseball stadium with its infield, outfield, bases and base paths, score and status boards, etc. The playing field is divided into a series of zones corresponding to the additive numbers achieved by tossing the two cubical dice to determine the simulated location of a ball in play.

Abstract: A movie game and method for playing the game is provided including a game board and a plurality of game pieces for representing each player's position on the game board. The game is played by at least two players. All of the players watch a segment of a prerecorded video, such as a movie video. The Question Maker reveals his answer and then the players take turns revealing their answers and comparing them with the Question Maker's answer. Each of the other players whose answer generally matches that of the Question Maker's answer is rewarded and has an opportunity to role a die and move his corresponding game piece around the game board in an effort to collect a predetermined amount and type of tokens.

Abstract: A board game apparatus for a game that requires exercise of both judgement and ability to solve problems, simulates a capitalist system and provides players with opportunity to trade off potential reward against risk according to their ability to solve problems. The apparatus includes a board marked with a series of spaces in a loop, including an event space and territory spaces, player pieces, tokens and property pieces for placing on territory spaces. An event affecting the standing of one or more players arises when a player piece lands on an event space. When a player piece lands on a territory space, the outcome depends upon the ability of a player to solve a problem and the player's judgement on whether to trade off potential reward against risk according to their perceived ability to solve the problem. When a player is defeated, that player may join the side of the victorious player, and assist in solving problems.
