  • Patent number: 10593188
Abstract: This disclosure describes four sub-systems for hygiene monitoring. The first one constantly monitors the temperature of working appliances to be in predefined range. The second one uses a combination of temperature, humidity, UV and gas detectors to monitor the environment. The third sub-system uses a combination of RF tags, RF tag readers and infrared/proximity/motion/microphone/touch sensors to monitor if the staff wash their hands properly. The fourth sub-system automatically generates food expiring label for opened food containers. The system generates and print the label whenever a staff wearing an RF tag gestures her/his tag or scans the container bar code or selects container food type from a drop-down menu on its touch screen. The fourth sub-system can also monitor the inventory of opened cans of food in the refrigerator and provide a report or alert when they the time gets close to expiration date.

  • Patent number: 10588825
Abstract: A pill compliance device maintains a patient's pill supply and monitors the patient's access to pills contained in the device to memorialize the patient's compliance with his/her pill-taking regimen. The device has a housing, including an inner pill or capsule storage compartment and an electronics unit, a removable cover, a switch to detect removal of the cover and magnet away from the housing, and to detect a replacement of the cover and magnet to the housing, wherein activating the switch triggers a transition from an active state, to a dormant state, and vice versa. A transition from the dormant state to the active state, by replacing the cover to the housing generates a pill-taken signal. A microcontroller generates a compliance notification signal that is communicated to a Wi-Fi module or router within or attached to the electronics unit, to memorialize the apparent compliance.

Abstract: Monitoring systems and methods for use in security, safety, and business process applications utilizing a correlation engine are disclosed. Sensory data from one or more sensors are captured and analyzed to detect one or more events in the sensory data. The events are correlated by a correlation engine, optionally by weighing the events based on attributes of the sensors that were used to detect the primitive events. The events are then monitored for an occurrence of one or more correlations of interest, or one or more critical events of interest. Finally, one or more actions are triggered based on a detection of one or more correlations of interest, one or more anomalous events, or one or more critical events of interest. Events may come from sensory devices, legacy systems, third-party systems, anonymous tips, and other data sources. The present invention may be used to increase business productivity by improving security, safety, and increasing profitability of business processes.

  • Patent number: 10529219
Abstract: A system and associated processes monitor hand hygiene compliance. For example, the hand hygiene compliance system may monitor, analyze and report on hand hygiene compliance after usage of bathroom facilities. Usage of bathroom facilities is determined by sensing activation (e.g., flushing) of a toilet or a urinal. Each activation event gives rise to a hand hygiene opportunity, and should be followed by performance of a corresponding hand hygiene procedure in order for the hand hygiene opportunity to be deemed “compliant”. Performance of a hand hygiene procedure is determined by sensing actuation of a hand hygiene product dispenser. To determine whether a hand hygiene opportunity is compliant, the system may determine whether a dispenser actuation event occurred within a predetermined period of time from the activation event.

Abstract: A device, system and method for controlling a communication device to provide alerts. One or more computing devices determine, using multimedia data received from one or more multimedia devices at a location of a commanding person, that an aural command has been directed from the commanding person to a target person. The one or more computing devices identify, using video data received from the one or more multimedia devices, one or more barriers to the target person hearing the aural command. Abstract: An integrated accessory control system can integrate functionality (services) of multiple disparate accessories and provide a unified user interface for interacting with the system via a controller device. An integrated accessory control system can include one accessory that can detect an event or action and send a notification to the controller device and at least one other accessory, such as an IP camera, that can be operated in response to the notification. In response to the notification, a controller device can generate an integrated user interface for interacting with the accessories in the integrated accessory control system. The interface can include a live feed from the IP camera, which can provide a media stream responsive to instructions from the controller.

  • Patent number: 10372131
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for vehicles changing lanes based on trailing vehicles. An example vehicle includes a vehicle speed sensor to measure a vehicle speed, a rearview camera to capture images when the vehicle speed is greater than a threshold, and a lane controller. The lane controller is to detect whether there is a trailing vehicle based on the images and determine, responsive to detecting the trailing vehicle, whether the trailing vehicle is providing a message to change lanes. The lane controller also is to send a lane-changing signal responsive to identifying the message.

  • Patent number: 10362536
Abstract: Controllers can communicate with accessories using various paths, such as a wireless communication path. A controller can maintain reachability information for each accessory indicating the path(s) via which the accessory is currently reachable. Maintaining the reachability information can include scanning to detect broadcasts from the accessories and updating the reachability information based on the results of scanning. Scanning parameters such as scan interval and scan duration can be selected dynamically based on the current operating context of the controller (e.g., where the controller is located, what processes are active on the controller, what other devices have been detected within communication range of the controller).
