  • Patent number: 10291742
Abstract: In general, this disclosure is directed to techniques for utilizing sensors within a computing device to detect a hazardous event and notify a central server that the computing device is potentially damaged. One or more sensors of a computing device may detect the hazardous event to the computing device. Responsive to detecting the hazardous event, the sensors may measure a magnitude of a damage measurand associated with the hazardous event to the computing device. The computing device may determine that the magnitude of the damage measurand exceeds a threshold damage value for the computing device. Responsive to determining that the magnitude of the damage measurand exceeds the threshold damage value, the computing device may send, to a server device, a message indicating the computing device is potentially damaged.

  • Patent number: 10271179
Abstract: Methods and systems for locating a target radio frequency (RF) device within an area are provided. In particular, a signal sent from a known transmitter while that transmitter is at a known location is received by a plurality of receivers located in or around the area. This is repeated multiple times for multiple locations. Representations of the signals received at the receivers for the different locations are provided as inputs to a neural network and are used to train the network. After training, representations of signals received at the receivers as a result of one or more signals emitted from a target transmitter located in or traveling through the area can be provided to the network, which in response provides a location of the target transmitter.

Sensory data from one or more sensors are captured and analyzed to detect one or more events in the sensory data. The events are correlated by a correlation engine, optionally by weighing the events based on attributes of the sensors that were used to detect the primitive events. The events are then monitored for an occurrence of one or more correlations of interest, or one or more critical events of interest. Finally, one or more actions are triggered based on a detection of one or more correlations of interest, one or more anomalous events, or one or more critical events of interest. Events may come from sensory devices, legacy systems, third-party systems, anonymous tips, and other data sources. The present invention may be used to increase business productivity by improving security, safety, and increasing profitability of business processes.

Abstract: Methods and systems for hybrid push-based media streaming of encoded video (or media) content grouped into video segment (or chunk) files to one or more user devices are described, where push notices are provided from a manifest server to subscribing user devices over a persistent low bandwidth connection when the video segment files are ready to be viewed. The video segment files may be downloaded by the user devices from segment servers to the user devices via a separate HTTP high bandwidth streaming connection, or other form of separate connection. In addition, unique, personalized, or additional content may be inserted in the push notices and viewed by the user devices without impacting video playback performance.

Abstract: Tamper-respondent assemblies with regions of increased susceptibility to a tamper event are provided, which include one or more tamper-detect sensors, one or more conductive traces, and an adhesive. The tamper-detect sensor(s) facilitates defining a secure volume about one or more electronic components to be protected, and the conductive trace(s) forms, at least in part, a tamper-detect network of the tamper-respondent assembly. The conductive trace(s) is disposed, at least in part, on the tamper-detect sensor(s). The adhesive contacts the conductive trace(s) on the tamper-detect sensor(s), and is disposed, at least in part, between and couples a surface of the tamper-detect sensor(s) to another surface of the assembly. Together, the tamper-detect sensor(s), conductive trace(s), and adhesive are a subassembly, with the subassembly being configured with multiple regions of increased susceptibility to breaking of the conductive trace(s) with a tamper event through the subassembly.

Abstract: A mobile electronic device (e.g., a mobile phone) includes a sensor and at least one controller. The controller performs a control base on a detection result that is detected by the sensor. For example, the controller is configured to determine a moving state by aircraft base on the detection result that is detected by the sensor. When the sensor is an atmospheric pressure sensor that is configured to detect atmospheric pressure, the controller is configured to determine the moving state by aircraft by a decrease in the atmospheric pressure, and after a determination of the moving state by aircraft, the at least one controller is further configured to keep the determination of the moving state by aircraft until the atmospheric pressure increases.
