  • Patent number: 10134092
Abstract: A method and system may assess the damage to insured properties in a neighborhood using aerial images captured from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or from a satellite device. The neighborhood may be selected by identifying a neighborhood affected by a catastrophe and having a large concentration of properties which are insured by a particular insurance provider. Aerial images of the entire neighborhood may then be captured and received from the UAV or the satellite device. For each insured property in the neighborhood, a condition and the extent and/or severity of the damage may be automatically determined based on the received aerial images. The aerial images along with indications of the extent of the damage may be displayed.

  • Patent number: 10127423
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a device for reading machine-readable code. A processor, configured by a strike application program monitors for a strike against a surface of the device. The strike is caused by a user either striking the device against a non-device surface or striking the surface of the device without necessarily engaging a button, a capacitive surface, or a resistive surface of the device. The strike comprising a detected strike is detected. An identifying characteristic of the detected strike is determined and it is determined if the detected strike having the identifying characteristic correlates to a particular scan-related operation of the device. The particular scan-related operation correlating to the detected strike having the identifying characteristic is executed in response to determining that the detected strike having the identifying characteristic correlates to a particular scan-related operation.

  • Patent number: 10127451
Abstract: The unique methodology and utility seeking patient protection in this application is using satellite imagery to quantify and derive harvest statistics of sun-drying crops. High resolution imagery can be used to geospatially define known coffee drying basins however it is impractical for continuous observation as it is costly and infrequent. The geospatially defined regions of interests of coffee drying basins can be matched with more frequent, lower resolution, multispectral satellite imagery (such as Sentinel-2). The signals can be tested against the known spectral signatures of washed and unwashed coffee to determine whether or not each pixel contains coffee. The result will yield a classified region of interest which can be used to determine the quantity of drying coffee and the washed to unwashed ratio of a harvest. With regular monitoring across multiple temporal scenes the harvest's seasonality and historical change can be derived.

  • Patent number: 10068361
Abstract: In various implementations, methods and systems are disclosed for accurately selecting a targeted portion of a digital image. In one embodiment, a selection cursor having a central and a peripheral region is provided. The central region is used to force a selection or a deselection and therefore moving the central region over a portion of the image causes that portion of the image to be selected or deselected, respectively. The peripheral region of the cursor surrounds the central region and defines an area where a hybrid level set algorithm for both boundary detection and region definition, particularly a matting region, is performed. This provides highly accurate boundary detection and matting region selection within a narrowly-focused peripheral region and eliminates the need to subsequently designate a matting region and apply a matting algorithm to complex portions of an object selection.

Abstract: This invention provides a device and method for diagnosing thermal images, which relates to a thermal imaging device and an applied field of infrared detection. The conventional thermal imaging device is excessively dependent on subjective experience of users to set an analysis area and mode of a thermal image during photographing, causing complicated operation and affecting assessments of thermal images. In the invention, a reference image reflecting morphological characters of a photographed body is superimposed and displayed in an infrared thermal image, and is as a visual reference of the photographed thermal image. The thermal image is diagnosed according to a corresponding analysis area and a specified diagnosis mode, to acquire a diagnosis result. Thereby, the common users can achieve the better photographing level.

Abstract: Methods and systems for recognizing people in images with increased accuracy are disclosed. In particular, the methods and systems divide images into a plurality of clusters based on common characteristics of the images. The methods and systems also determine an image cluster to which an image with an unknown person instance most corresponds. One or more embodiments determine a probability that the unknown person instance is each known person instance in the image cluster using a trained cluster classifier of the image cluster. Optionally, the methods and systems determine context weights for each combination of an unknown person instance and each known person instance using a conditional random field algorithm based on a plurality of context cues associated with the unknown person instance and the known person instances. The methods and systems calculate a contextual probability based on the cluster-based probabilities and context weights to identify the unknown person instance.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can identify a first video represented based on a first set of image frames. A first subset of image frames can be extracted from the first set of image frames. The first subset of image frames can be compared to one or more image frames associated with a collection of video clusters. It can be determined that at least a threshold quantity of image frames in the first subset matches, within an allowable deviation, at least some image frames associated with a first video cluster included the collection of video clusters. The first video cluster can be defined to include the first video.

Abstract: A method and a mobile terminal for controlling unlocking include the following. The number of feature points in a current feature point set of a finger is acquired. X rows of sensing electrodes are added to the current sensing electrode set to update the current sensing electrode set. The finger is scanned according to sensing electrodes in the current sensing electrode set updated to obtain fingerprint data. A fingerprint image is generated based on the fingerprint data. Feature points are extracted from the fingerprint image and the current feature point set is updated based on the feature points extracted. The terminal is unlocked when the number of the feature points in the current feature point set is greater than or equal to the first preset threshold and the current feature point set is matched.

  • Patent number: 10061987
Abstract: Whether a not a given video includes video content of other videos is determined by evaluating video content as well as video content transitions over time of videos. One or more fingerprints of the video are created and used to match against reference fingerprints of reference videos to identify candidate videos that is likely to have matching video content as an input video. After a candidate video is identified, a likelihood of the candidate video and an input video having matching video content is evaluated. A confidence score based on the evaluation of video content as well as video content transitions over time for a pair of videos including the input video and a candidate video is generated. When the confidence score exceeds a threshold score, it is determined that the pair of videos is likely to include the matching video content.
