  • Patent number: 10360448
Abstract: An image processing system or electronic device may implement processing circuitry. The processing circuitry may receive an image, such as financial document image. The processing circuitry may determine a character count for the financial document image or particular portions of the financial document image without recognizing any particular character in the financial document image. In that regard, the processing circuitry may determine a top left score for pixels in the financial document, the top left score indicating or representing a likelihood that a particular pixel corresponds to a top left corner of a text character. The processing circuitry may also determine top right score for image pixels. Then, the processing circuitry may identify one or more text chunks using the top left and top rights scores for pixels in the financial document image. The processing circuitry may determine a character count for the identified text chunks.

  • Patent number: 10356404
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to process image-based content to reduce the complexity of information used to represent the content, without visible different to a viewing user. Individual images of the content items can be broken into image blocks, each of which can be converted via DCT algorithm to a DCT matrix. Values within the DCT matrix can be compared to just-noticeable-difference (JND) thresholds, below which information is unlikely to be perceptible to viewing users. For each value in the DCT matrix below a corresponding JND threshold, the value can be reduced to zero, thus reducing complexity of the image without perceptible difference to a viewing user and enabling more efficient use of computing resources to store and transmit the image. JND thresholds can be based on one or more models of human perception, including a contrast sensitivity function model, a luminance adjustment model, and a contrast masking model.

The hypotheses and their associated probabilities may be aggregated. From the aggregated hypotheses, a hypothesis with a highest confidence value may be deemed a solution.

  • Patent number: 10311757
Abstract: The invention relates to the technical field of data hiding, in particular to a data hiding method and a data hiding system. An image is used as a data carrier; after secret data is converted into a bit sequence by a sending end, the values of each bit in the bit sequence are hidden in the image; the image hidden with the secret data is obtained and is sent to a receiving end; and the receiving end can extract the hidden secret data from the image according to a corresponding secret key. During data hiding, each square image block can hide two-bit data through inverse number odd-even properties of a pixel gray value sequence of two diagonal lines of each square image block, so that the volume of data hidden in the image is twice of the number of the image blocks split by the image.

  • Patent number: 10295994
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for part surface manufacturing quality control are provided. A specification for manufacturing a part surface is maintained in a storage, the specification comprising a target value for a profile characteristic of the surface. Measurements of the profile characteristic of the surface produced during multiple manufacturing runs are maintained in the storage, wherein the surface produced during each of the manufacturing runs is associated with two or more of the measurements made at different points of the surface. A score for each of the measurements is calculated based on how the close that measurement is to the target value. For the surface produced during one or more of the manufacturing runs, the scores for at least some of the measurements made for that surface during that manufacturing run are displayed.

Abstract: In an electrical power outlet device, a processor and a memory are configured to execute an application within the outlet device, which computes a pattern of usage of the outlet device. A set of sensors in the outlet device includes a first sensor that is usable to detect an event in an environment in which the outlet device is supplying power. The environment includes elements that are not participating in an electrical circuit that receives power from the outlet device and the event is usable by the application to alter the pattern of usage. An autonomous modification of an operation of the outlet device is performed in response to the pattern of usage, the event, or both. The operation changes a power supplying state of the outlet device without using an external switching apparatus or an external logic implemented outside the outlet device.
