  • Patent number: 10037479
Abstract: Systems and methods for eye tracking include a video capture component that provides a video of an environment and a set of gaze tracking coordinates for the video. A library stores a plurality of feature sets representing respective areas of interest with respective object labels. An image annotation component extracts a plurality of features from a region of interest and matches the extracted features to an area of interest in the library to produce a selected area of interest and a confidence value. A verification component accepts the selected area of interest if the confidence value meets a threshold value and sends the region of interest to a human expert to assign an object label if the confidence value does not. The library is dynamically updated in response to input from the human expert to add new areas of interest and new object labels to the library.

  • Patent number: 10019998
Abstract: An audio identification system generates a probe audio fingerprint of an audio signal and determines amount of pitch shifting in the audio signal based on analysis of correlation between the probe audio fingerprint and a reference audio fingerprint. The audio identification system applies a time-to-frequency domain transform to frames of the audio signal and filters the transformed frames. The audio identification system applies a two-dimensional discrete cosine transform (DCT) to the filtered frames and generates the probe audio fingerprint from a selected number of DCT coefficients. The audio identification system calculates a DCT sign-only correlation between the probe audio fingerprint and the reference audio fingerprint, and the DCT sign-only correlation closely approximates the similarity between the audio characteristics of the probe audio fingerprint and those of the reference audio fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 9969337
Abstract: Feature detection may be performed on an image. After feature descriptors for each detected feature are computed, feature matching between feature descriptors for the current image and for a key image frame is performed. If a sufficient number of good matches are identified, key points associated with the feature correspondences may be projected from image coordinates to world coordinates. A distance, in the world coordinate frame, between each feature correspondence may he computed. When the computed distances indicate sufficient movement of the mobile agent to ensure accurate motion estimation, a motion estimate may he computed from the pairs of world coordinates associated with the feature correspondences. A current camera pose in a global coordinate frame may be generated. A motion trajectory may then be determined and feature descriptors for the key image may be updated to the feature descriptors for the current image frame.

Abstract: A computer system may generate a lineage graph for a data processing system. The lineage graph may contain one or more nodes, and it may identify the flow of data through the data processing system. The computer system may determine that a first node in the lineage graph defunct. The computer system may then generate a report for the data processing system and provide the report to a user. The report may include an explanation of why the first node is defunct. The computer system may insert an indication that the first node is defunct into metadata for the first node. The indication may also include the explanation of why the first node is defunct.

  • Patent number: 9959167
Abstract: Techniques for rebundling grid encoded data storage systems are described herein. A new grid of shards is created based in part on shards from a first grid of shards. The second grid of shards contains data shards, including one or more data shards from the first grid of shards, and derived shards that are indexed by row and column and is configured so that shards in the second grid are reproducible from shards in the same row using a first redundancy code and are also reproducible from shards in the same column using a second redundancy code. The derived shards of the second grid of shards are then derived from other shards in the second grid of shards using the first redundancy code and the second redundancy code.

  • Patent number: 9953241
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a crop yield estimate for an area as small as an individual field from images captured by a satellite are disclosed. The system generates simulations of crop yields in a region that includes the area by applying combinations of different parameters to a crop yield models. Observable quantities for simulated yields are determined from the simulations. The simulations and the observable properties are used to train a statistic model for the region that has two or more variables. Images captured by a satellite that include at least a portion of the area are obtained. Crop information is then determined from the images and weather information associated with the dates that the images where captured is obtained. The statistical model is then applied to the crop information and the weather information to determine a crop yield estimate.

  • Patent number: 9946357
Abstract: A movement of an object is recognized as a predetermined movement, by transmitting signals between transmitter-receiver pairs, which are reflected from the object. A first event is recorded for one of the transmitter-receiver pairs if a reflected signal meets a predetermined proximity criterion, and a second event is recorded for a second transmitter-receiver pair if, after the first event, a subsequent reflected signal meets a predetermined proximity criterion. The first and second events are used to identify the movement.

  • Patent number: 9948883
Abstract: An information processing apparatus acquires input brightness information of input image data. A setting unit sets, based on a user's operation, a display range for displaying within a range of brightness possibly taken by the input image data, and reference brightness that is an upper limit of brightness of a display unit. A generation unit generates display image data by converting gradation characteristics of the input image data based on the display. The brightness of the display unit is controlled based on the reference brightness. A notification unit performs first notification processing when the display unit is able to display an image based on the display image data with brightness of the input image data, and second notification processing when the display unit is not able to so display the image, based on the display range, the reference brightness, and the input brightness information.
