Abstract: A liquid level detecting method is provided. Firstly, a receiving component is provided, wherein the receiving component includes a transmissive container for containing a liquid and a marking component located on a rear surface of the transmissive container. Then, a camera captures a receiving component image of the receiving component from a front surface of the transmitting container, wherein the receiving component image includes a transmissive container image and a marking component image. Then, the marker component image is analyzed downward from an end portion to obtain multiple width values of multiple position points of the marker component image. Then, a width difference between each width value and a width average of the marking component image is obtained. Then, a position point whose width difference value is not within a preset range is determined. Then, according to the position point, a liquid level of the liquid is determined.

Abstract: A steganographic coding detector (and method) analyzes one or more pages of a file. For each page containing text strings, the detector counts a number of A0h and 20h characters for the text string. For each text string for which the number of A0h characters is greater than a first threshold, the detector sets a flag to a first state, The first threshold is computed based on the number of 20h characters in that text string. For each text string for which the number of 20h characters is less than the first threshold, the detector sets the flag to a second state. Responsive to the number of text strings that have a flag at the first state being greater than a second threshold, the detector marks the file as being steganographically encoded.

Abstract: Systems and methods for de-identification of medical images can be applied to medical images acquired using various techniques. A 3D medical image can be analyzed to generate an image mask that partitions the image into a foreground region and a background region. From the image mask, a “skin surface” can be reconstructed based on the boundary between the foreground region and the background region. The image mask can be modified, e.g., by moving a randomly-selected subset of the voxels from the foreground region to the background region so that the shape of the skin surface is altered, thus obscuring patient-identifying features. The original medical image can be modified by changing the intensity of voxels in the background region while preserving the original intensity of voxels in the foreground region.
Abstract: There is provided a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing application program executable by a processor of an information processing apparatus which communicates with a scanner having specific information. The specific information indicates whether the scanner is configured to generate a specific file for which specific processing is executable by a specific program. The application program, when executed by the processor, causes the information processing apparatus to: obtain an image read by the scanner; obtain the specific information from the scanner; and generate a file indicating the obtained image. In a case that the specific information is first information, the application program causes the information processing apparatus to generate the file with usable information embedded therein. In a case that the specific information is second information, the application program cause the information processing apparatus to generate the file without the usable information embedded therein.
Abstract: Techniques for tagging virtualized content are disclosed. Abstract: One embodiment of the invention disclosed herein provides techniques for distributing tasks to skilled workers participating in a managed crowd-sourcing workforce. A crowd worker routing system receives a request for a task assignment from a first worker participating in the crowd-sourcing workforce. The crowd worker routing system retrieves one or more scores associated with the first worker, wherein each score is related to the performance of the first worker with respect to completing a prior set of task assignments. The crowd worker routing system determines that a first task assignment included in a first set of task assignments is related to a first score included in the one or more scores. The crowd worker routing system determines whether to route the first task assignment to the first worker for completion based on the first score and one or more routing rules.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for encoding information in a graphic image. The information may be encoded so as to have a visual appearance that adopts a particular style, so that the encoded information is visually pleasing in the environment in which it is displayed. An encoder and decoder are trained during an integrated training process, where the encoder is tuned to minimize a loss when its encoded images are decoded. Similarly, the decoder is also trained to minimize loss when decoding the encoded images. Both the encoder and decoder may utilize a convolutional neural network in some aspects to analyze data and/or images. Once data is encoded, a style from a sample image is transferred to the encoded data. When decoding, the decoder may largely ignore the style aspects of the encoded data and decode based on a content portion of the data.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for presentation of key frames. In one embodiment, an encoded video file is generated where one or more bits are assigned to key frames and minimizes the number of bits assigned to delta frames. Each key frame may be presented to a user during trick mode operation (e.g., fast forward, rewind, pause, or random seek operation). When the encoded video file is given to a packager, the packager generates a manifest file listing the byte information (byte offset and number of bytes) for each key frame in the encoded video file. When a user inputs a trick play mode command, the packager provides the manifest file to the client device of the user and the client device requests the bytes for the key frames of the video file from the content delivery network.

The acquired data is stored in a memory of the data collection node and metadata is generated at the data collection node based on the acquired data. The metadata is analyzed at the data collection node and at least one of the metadata, the acquired data, and an alert is sent from the data collection node to another device on the network based on the analysis of the metadata.
Abstract: Data security access and management may require a server dedicated to monitoring document access requests and enforcing rules and policies to limit access to those who are not specifically identified as having access to the data. One example of operation may include selecting data to be protected via a user device, applying at least one policy to the data, storing the at least one policy in a data record identifying the data, modifying a data format of the data to create a modified data, and storing the modified data in memory.

Abstract: A method for emergency communication includes encoding a message for visual display including a message to field and a message from field. The visual display is revealed to a reading device in communication with a broadcast center, which stores the visual display. The messages are decoded and sorted from visual displays at the broadcast center. On an index channel, a time and channel number for when a message body of the message will be broadcast on a message channel is broadcasted. The message body is broadcasted on the message channel.

Abstract: A method for securing transmission of digital data in a communication network comprising a central station or a terminal and at least one device monitored by the central station via the communication network. The at least one device is configured to produce and to transmit a digital data stream to the central station or terminal. The at least one device further comprises a secure non-volatile memory for storing at least device specific information. The at least one device forms a data block based on at least the device specific information stored in the secure memory. The data block thus formed may compose additional data to be merged with the digital data stream produced by the at least one device. A modified digital data stream results from this merging operation and is transmitted by the at least one device to the central station or terminal.
