  • Patent number: 10534962
Abstract: Techniques are provided for increasing the accuracy of automated classifications produced by a machine learning engine. Specifically, the classification produced by a machine learning engine for one photo-realistic image is adjusted based on the classifications produced by the machine learning engine for other photo-realistic images that correspond to the same portion of a 3D model that has been generated based on the photo-realistic images. Techniques are also provided for using the classifications of the photo-realistic images that were used to create a 3D model to automatically classify portions of the 3D model. The classifications assigned to the various portions of the 3D model in this manner may also be used as a factor for automatically segmenting the 3D model.

  • Patent number: 10535103
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to detecting fraudulent insurance claims. According to certain aspects, a central monitoring server may receive and examine data detected by at least one unmanned vehicle and generate an estimated insurance claim for a loss event. The central monitoring server may then receive an actual insurance claim relating to the loss event, and may compare the estimated insurance claim to the actual insurance claim to identify potential buildup included in the actual insurance claim. If buildup is detected, the central monitoring server may then process the actual insurance claim accordingly based upon the potential buildup. As a result, claim monies may be paid to insureds that more accurately reflect actual losses resulting from the loss event, and insurance cost savings may be ultimately passed onto typical insurance customers.

  • Patent number: 10523999
Abstract: A computing system compares various reference fingerprints each representing a reference media stream broadcast on a different respective known channel, and the computing system determines that a plurality of the reference fingerprints match each other, thus defining a multi-match group of the matching reference fingerprints. In response, the computing system identifies a fingerprint feature that could define a distinction between the reference fingerprints, and the computing system resolves the multi-match based on the identified feature, thereby determining the channel carrying the media stream being rendered by the media presentation device. And the server then takes channel-specific action based on the determined channel.

  • Patent number: 10515414
Abstract: A system generates an estimated floor area measurement of a building based on the calculated estimated total roof area of the roof of the building. This is based on a correlation between the size of the building roof and the size of the building. Typically, the floor area of a single full floor of the building is roughly the size of the roof of the building if the roof were flat with no slope. This in effect is turning the roof into a floor to generate estimated floor area. With additional adjustments to area measurements to account for multiple floors, roof overhang, wall width, internal building features such as walls and staircases, and/or obstructed views of the building in the aerial image(s), etc., an even more accurate floor area estimation may be generated.

  • Patent number: 10515429
Abstract: A steganographic digital watermark signal is decoded from host imagery without requiring a domain transformation for signal synchronization, thereby speeding and simplifying the decoding operation. In time-limited applications, such as in supermarket point-of-sale scanners that attempt watermark decode operations on dozens of video frames every second, the speed improvement allows a greater percentage of each image frame to be analyzed for watermark data. In battery-powered mobile devices, avoidance of repeated domain transformations extends battery life. A great variety of other features and arrangements, including machine learning aspects, are also detailed.

  • Patent number: 10509947
Abstract: Multi-dimensional data can be mapped to a projection shape and converted for image analysis. In some examples, the multi-dimensional data may include data captured by a LIDAR system for use in conjunction with a perception system for an autonomous vehicle. Converting operations can include converting three-dimensional LIDAR data to multi-channel two-dimensional data. Data points of the multi-dimensional data can be mapped to a projection shape, such as a sphere. Characteristics of the projection shape may include a shape, a field of view, a resolution, and a projection type. After data is mapped to the projection shape, the projection shape can be converted to a multi-channel, two-dimensional image. Image segmentation and classification may be performed on the two-dimensional data. Further, segmentation information may be used to segment the three-dimensional LIDAR data, while a rendering plane may be positioned relative to the segmented data to perform classification on a per-object basis.

  • Patent number: 10491899
Abstract: Because human eyes may become less sensitive to dark areas around very bright areas in a video (known as glare masking), we may use coarser quantization in such dark areas. Considering the extra distortion that human eyes can tolerate in a block with glare masking, a quantization ratio for the block can be calculated. The quantization parameter for the block can then be scaled up using the quantization ratio to form an adjusted quantization parameter. In one embodiment, the adjusted quantization parameter can be derived at the decoder side, and thus, transmission of quantization ratio information is not needed. In particular, we can estimate the luminance of a current block based on a predicted block and de-quantized DC coefficient, and use the luminance of causal neighboring blocks and the estimated luminance of the current block to estimate the adjusted quantization parameter.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for predicting one or more characteristics of a animal by applying computational methods to image(s) of the animal to generate one or more metrics indicative of the characteristics. Embodiments determine predictors of characteristics by creating a sample library of animals of a particular type, determining facial descriptor measurements for each animal, determining relationships between facial descriptor measurements and additional library data, and selecting predictors from these relationships. Other embodiments predict characteristics of animals not in the library and, optionally, categorize animals for particular discipline, training, management, care, etc. based on the characteristics. Other embodiments predict characteristics and determine strategies for group(s) of animals using predicted characteristics of individual animals.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to systems, methods, and machine-readable media for watermarking an identification mark on an image. A system may provide an image to a trained convolutional neural network to generate a saliency map. The saliency map includes saliency information which identifies a salient region of the image and a non-salient region of the image. The system may be configured to determine a level of aggressiveness based on a weight model. The weight model includes information regarding a popularity of the image, a value of the image, a geographic location of the image, and a user account associated with the image. The system is configured to overlap the watermark with one of the identified salient region and the non-salient region based on the level of aggressiveness to generate a watermarked image.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to methods, devices and computer program products that enable watermark-based metadata recovery for content with multiple alternative components. The content can, for example, be included in broadcast television services which include multiple alternative audio and video components, only a subset of which may be presented by a given receiver at a given time. The disclosed techniques, among other features, enable broadcasters to deliver different services to different customers by using different watermarks into the feeds they provide to multichannel video program distributors (MVPDs). For instance, coincident audio and video components are embedded with different watermark payloads.

  • Patent number: 10473463
Abstract: In a technology for detecting the water level of a river by image processing, after an angle of view setting process, an area setting unit sets an arbitrarily defined certain range from the center of the set angle of view as a processing area. Then, a flow processing unit calculates, from the processing area, motion information and a flow direction, computes a flow density, determines a region having a high density and similar flow directions to be a flow of water currents, and deletes flows in the other directions. Thereafter, a graph-cut processing unit creates an object seed and a background seed for graph-cutting, and detects a water surface by automatic graph-cutting. After an edge extraction processing unit has performed edge extraction, a water level calculation processing unit determines an edge that satisfies a predetermined condition to be a water level line, and outputs a water level measurement result.

The change may be based on a digital image of the same frexel, for as seen in a prior digital photograph captured previously by the computer-controlled system. The system scans the frexel and uses feature recognition software to compare the person's current features in the frexel with that person's features in the digital image. It then calculates enhancements to the make the current features appear more like the features in the digital image, and it applies the RMA to the frexel to accomplish the enhancements.
