Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods for monitoring and evaluating ventilatory parameters, analyzing ventilatory data associated with those parameters, and providing useful notifications and/or recommendations to clinicians. Modern ventilators monitor, evaluate, and graphically represent a myriad of ventilatory parameters. However, many clinicians may not easily identify or recognize data patterns and correlations indicative of certain patient conditions, changes in patient condition, and/or effectiveness of ventilatory treatment. Further, clinicians may not readily determine appropriate ventilatory adjustments that may address certain patient conditions and/or the effectiveness of ventilatory treatment. Abstract: A method includes detecting one of an application access or a file type access, and configuring, in response to detecting the application or file type access, automatically without user interaction, a display system in an image quality configuration for the application or the file type where the image quality configuration is based on providing best image quality with respect to the application or the file type. Configuring the display system in an image quality configuration, may involve determining that a profile associated with the application or associated with the file type is stored in memory, and configuring the display system according to the profile. The method may adjust at least one anti-aliasing parameter or at least one anisotropic filter parameter. The method may monitor an operating system to obtain an indication that an application has been accessed or that a file type has been accessed.

Abstract: A method of determining locations of at least two pointers in a captured image frame comprises generating a vertical intensity profile (VIP) from the captured image frame, the VIP comprising peaks generally corresponding to the at least two pointers; determining if the peaks are closely spaced and, if the peaks are closely spaced, fitting a curve to the VIP; analyzing the fitted curve to determine peak locations of the fitted curve; and registering the peak locations as the pointer locations.

Abstract: A method for moving icons on a display of a mobile device, either on the display or into a folder is provided. When an icon has been selected to be moved, its appearance is altered with respect to the other icons so as to provide a visual cue to the user regarding the move and the altered icon is overlaid on the other icons as it moves thereover. The icon may be displayed with a move cursor indicating where the icon will be placed if the current position is selected. A method is also provided for creating new folders on the display using a dialog box that is configured to enable a name and icon for the folder to be chosen and/or selected. Default names and folder icons may be used and alternative icons may also be presented in the dialog box to enable a preview of the choices.

Abstract: Multiple event types are monitored for events, and surveillance data is stored for each event. Surveillance data for a primary event of one event type can be presented to a user, and surveillance data for a set of related events corresponding to another event type can be presented based on a set of relatedness criteria and the surveillance data for the primary event. A user can adjust the relatedness criteria to filter/adjust the surveillance data presented for the related event(s). A user interface can enable the user to simultaneously view the surveillance data for both events and adjust the relatedness criteria. In an illustrative application, the invention is utilized to detect fraudulent merchandise returns in a retail store.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting end of a transaction in a computing environment are provided. The method comprises determining a target area in a graphical user environment displayed on a display screen, wherein a change is expected to occur when end of a transaction is reached; masking the target area at least partially to remove content included in the target area that is present before or after the transaction was initiated; monitoring the target area for change in content; and detecting the end of the transaction when the content of the target area has changed.

Abstract: A customized digital yearbook system includes advertisements that are inserted into each of the individual customized yearbooks. Preferably, a fee is paid by the advertisers for keeping the advertisements in the individual customized yearbooks for a period of time, which is renewable. If not renewed, in some embodiments, a new advertiser pays a fee and the advertisements are replaced with new advertisements from the new advertiser(s).

Abstract: Described is a system, method, and product for building a roster. A user interface is rendered. A list of entities is presented. A selection of a first entity and a second entity are received via the user interface. A first list of elements associated with the first entity and a second list of elements associated with the second entity are presented. A selection of an element from the first list of elements is received via the user interface. The second list is updated to include only elements associated with the selected element. A roster is generated, wherein the roster includes summary data, the summary data corresponding to the elements in the updated second list. The summary data is displayed in the user interface.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a video processing system including video processor, an external memory, and an integrated circuit that implements both a memory controller (having embedded intelligence) and an internal memory coupled to the memory controller. The memory controller is configured to pre-cache in the internal memory partial frames of reference video data in the external memory (e.g., N-line slices of M-line reference frames, where M>N), and to respond to requests (e.g., from the video processor) for blocks of reference video data including by determining whether each requested block (or each of at least two portions thereof) has been pre-cached in the internal memory, causing each requested cached block (or portion thereof) to be read from the internal memory, and causing each requested non-cached block (or portion thereof) to be read from the external memory.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention place a second object contained within an overlay atop a first object in a first video stream. Suggested positions at which to place the second object atop the first object are received from a plurality of viewers in a first group of viewers of the first video stream. A consensus position at which to place the second object atop the first object is calculated based on the suggested positions. The second object is placed atop the first object at the consensus position. The first and second objects are transmitted to a second group of viewers of the first video stream after a delay period.

Abstract: As indicated above, an exemplary feature of the present invention is to automatically identify corresponding GUI elements on different computer systems, or the same computer system at different points in time. Specifically, under the present invention, a user action on a widget of a GUI provided by an application loaded a first computer system is observed, and information about the widget(s) involved in the user action as well as on all other widget(s) in the GUI is collected and associated with the user action. Thereafter a widget(s) (on which the user action is to be performed) of a GUI provided by the application as loaded on a second computer system is robustly identified using the collection information. Then, the action is performed on the identified widget(s). In identifying the widget(s), the present invention utilizes a set of hard and soft constraints to identify a matching widget(s).

Temporal layers can be stored in a repository where they can be searched and used by others. A user's personal profile can be compared with other users' personal profiles and the results of the comparison can be used to recommend temporal layers. Advertisements can be associated with temporal layers.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for tinting an image by monochromatic tinting using saturation maps for use by an application providing a user interface supporting customizable tinted images. By using saturation map and a monochromatic value map derived from the image and configuring the saturation map to specify areas for tinting, a tint color can be applied to the image by a series of quickly processed arithmetic calculations. This provides a lightweight and high quality method for tinting images within an application without wasting unnecessary network bandwidth or processor resources. Furthermore, the method can be adapted to apply multiple tint colors for multiple tints or use an alpha channel to restore color information lost due to the monochromatic value map. The resulting tinted image can also be used as a texture for a three-dimensional rendering engine.

End users may export report data from text-based and image-based formats by converting the data into a spreadsheet format using various customization techniques. Thus, end users may edit, modify, analyze, or otherwise manipulate information in online and offline reports, while maintaining integrity of the information in the repositories.

For merging, a node in a first domain can be identified to be a new Routing Controller (RC) for the merged domain. A second domain can be identified to be merged with the first domain. Nodes, including old RCs, in the first domain and the second domain are notified of the identity of the new RC in the merged domain. The topology of the old RC's domain is sent to the new RC. The new topology is computed by the new RC from the topology information given by the old RCs. The updated topology is distributed to nodes in the merged domain via the new RC.

Abstract: Disclosed is a unique system and method that facilitates gesture-based interaction with a user interface. The system involves an object sensing configured to include a sensing plane vertically or horizontally located between at least two imaging components on one side and a user on the other. The imaging components can acquire input images taken of a view of and through the sensing plane. The images can include objects which are on the sensing plane and/or in the background scene as well as the user as he interacts with the sensing plane. By processing the input images, one output image can be returned which shows the user objects that are in contact with the plane. Thus, objects located at a particular depth can be readily determined. Any other objects located beyond can be “removed” and not seen in the output image.

Abstract: Method of controlling playback of Internet web page video on remote or high quality video displays using a remote control device, such as a smart phone. The method runs a first client browser on the remote control device, which in turn sends commands to a proxy browser with a data buffer. In response to user commands from the remote control device, the proxy browser retrieves and buffers video and non-video web page data from Internet servers, and sends this data to the remote control device. Upon user command, the proxy browser also sends selected buffered data to a second client browser that is connected to the remote or high quality video display. Media player playback commands on the remote control are echoed to a second media player on the second client browser, resulting in good synchronization between devices. Various compression, IP address adjustment, and public key methods are also discussed.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for managing data being displayed on at least one monitor screen based on monitoring user's attention in relation to the monitor screen. In one embodiment, upon detecting that the user's attention is leaving at least a portion of a screen, the system may alert the user of such an event. Alternatively, the system could alert the user upon detecting a triggering condition while the user's attention is away from the at least a portion of the screen. The step of alerting the user may include modifying at least a portion of a display on a monitor not being viewed by the user. Additionally, the system may initiate preparation of a report including any data not being viewed by a user during the time period when the user is not viewing a portion of the monitor.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system for representing a production environment comprises a modeling module that creates a three-dimensional model of at least a portion of a production environment. The system also includes a view module that renders a graphical depiction of at least a portion of the three-dimensional model from a reference point that is based at least in part upon a location. Methods of using the system are also provided.

Abstract: A playlist generating section generates a playlist by grouping a plurality of pieces of program information based on meta information stored in a database. Also, the playlist generating section generates the playlist by further including, in the playlist, current status information indicating a reproduction status of the playlist and changed status information indicating an update status of the plurality of pieces of the program information corresponding to the playlist. A display unit displays an image based on the playlist such that information representing the current status and the changed status is further included in the image based on the playlist for allowing selection of the playlist. As a result, it is possible to select a program desired by a user by a simple operation.

Abstract: A method and system for building an Internet portal provides a portal toolkit platform consisting at least in part of a portal application server and a web server associated with the portal toolkit platform that is accessible by at least one end user. A business is allowed to access the portal application server and fill one or more content management templates from a selection of content management templates governing content elements to be presented to end users via the website server. When an end user accesses the website server, content governed by the template is presented for the end user by the portal application server via the web server. The business can populate a database with content and populate the web server, for example, with a set of images, HTML files, and other assets such as PDF files and build an Internet portal on top of the toolkit as an approach to integrating transaction systems.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and computer program product for the proactive completion of input fields for automated voice enablement of a Web page. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for proactively completing empty input fields for voice enabling a Web page can be provided. The method can include receiving speech input for an input field in a Web page and inserting a textual equivalent to the speech input into the input field in a Web page. The method further can include locating an empty input field remaining in the Web page and generating a speech grammar for the input field based upon permitted terms in a core attribute of the empty input field and prompting for speech input for the input field. Finally, the method can include posting the received speech input and the grammar to an automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine and inserting a textual equivalent to the speech input provided by the ASR engine into the empty input field.

Abstract: The subject disclosure relates to leveraging input from media consumers of media content with no or unstructured metadata in order to provide accurate and relevant structured metadata for the media content. Thus, media content uploaded to a content server can be associated with a set of predetermined metadata tags that are intended to be relevant to the media content and to accurately describe the media content. These tags can be implemented as key-value pairs, in which either the keys or the values for a given key can be provided by users (e.g., consumers of the media content), and any such input can be assigned a confidence score in order to determine the “correct” value for a key.
