Abstract: A four-corner cut square Chinese character input method based on excellent code comprises the steps of: assigning predesigned code table to corresponding keys of a keyboard; and inputting Chinese Character according to four-corner coding of Chinese character by using the corresponding keys on the keyboard, an inputting rule of Chinese character coding including twenty cutting rules which comprise the characteristic of the excellent code combining with cutting skill. The excellent code table and cutting skill are capable of putting an end to the amphibolous codes, with this input method, most of Chinese characters don't have overlapped codes.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to building control systems and, more particularly, to methods and devices for configuring and/or displaying parameters or other information such as menu screens on a programmable wall module of a building control system. In an illustrative embodiment, a configuration tool may be configured to create a number of screens for the user interface of the programmable wall module based on a number of user inputs received via the user interface of the configuration tool. In some cases, the number of user inputs received via the user interface of the configuration tool may be less than, and sometimes far less than, the number of screens that are created by the configuration tool. Regardless, with the number of screens created, the configuration tool may upload the number of screens to the programmable wall module for use on the user interface of the programmable wall module.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for displaying graphical objects in a display is presented. A first input from a user is received. In response to receiving the first input, a graphical object is displayed in the display. A second input is then received from the user. In response to receiving the second input, the graphical object is fixated in the display. An object that would have otherwise been occluded by the graphical object is then displayed in an area of the display outside the area occupied by the graphical object.

Abstract: A building control system incorporating an external calendar service, having a schedule subsystem, a schedule synchronization subsystem connected to the schedule subsystem, and an external calendar configuration subsystem connected to the schedule synchronization subsystem. The schedule subsystem may have a schedule object, a building schedule mechanism for activating different subsystems in a building based on a configuration of a building schedule, and a schedule change mechanism for creating, configuring and/or changing the building schedule.

Abstract: The use of an image capture device with a IPTV Set Top Box allows for the STB to detect a plurality of viewers, and to then provide access conditions that are appropriate to the detected viewers. In cases where a viewer has not been profiled this may include creating a profile for the user, while in cases where a plurality of users are detected, a set of access rights and permissions determined in accordance with the plurality of users can be provided.

Abstract: Systems and method for interpreting a data selection on a touch screen may include providing an interface on the touch screen with a plurality of lanes, each lane associated with an attribute, and each attribute associated with a plurality of values. Icons may fill each lane, with each icon configured to display one of the values of the attribute of the lane. The interface may also have a first lane where a first icon is not displayed. It may be determined that a finger gesture input from the touch screen with a direction is associated with the first lane, and in response, the icons in the first lane may be moved in that direction to display the first icon. A finger tap input from the touch screen corresponding to the first icon may enlarge a size of the first icon on the touch screen to substantially fill the first lane.

Abstract: Methods and test systems for testing a network. A test system may emulate a plurality of users, each emulated user executing a user activity. Each emulated user activity may include one or more commands. At least some emulated user activities may include a first command associated with a first protocol synchronized with a second command associated with a second protocol different from the first protocol. The test system may report a result of emulating the plurality of users.

Abstract: Systems and methods for collaborative task management are described. The apparatus may include a user interface module that provides a graphical user interface to a user, a form engine coupled to the user interface module to receive form data from a task data store, a scheduling engine that schedules task assignments, and the task data store that stores information related to one or more tasks. The method may include receiving from a user a request to update a task assignment, displaying to the user a task assignment form, receiving an indication to process the form, updating a task data store with information from the form. The method may alternately include receiving task information from a plurality of users, prioritizing task assignments using that information, generating one or more work queues, providing a work queue to a user, receiving an update to a task assignment, and re-generating the work queue.

Abstract: A method of presenting information to a party through a messaging application is described. Responsive to receipt of a communication from a party (e.g., the first user), a reply is sent. The communication and the reply is presented in an interface to the sender. The messaging system determines matching content that is relevant to one or both of the communication and the reply and determines a quality of the match. Determining the quality of the match may include determining a score for an advertisement based on the advertisement's responsiveness to content identified in the reply message that was sent. Based on a determination that the quality is above a threshold, the matching content is presented along with the communication and the reply.

Abstract: A display system for use on a vehicle is presented. The display system comprises a cursor control device, at least one electronic display for displaying a first image comprising a three-dimensional conformal view of a terrain and a first movable cursor, and a processor that is coupled to the cursor control device and the at least one electronic display. The processor is configured to move the first movable cursor on the first image in response to input from the cursor control device and to determine a latitude and longitude that correspond to the position of the first movable cursor.

Abstract: A metadata migration tool helps GUI application developers keep track of institutional knowledge that may be lost between application versions. The maintenance and transference of this knowledge from one application version to another aids developers in conforming future applications to restrictions and requirements imposed on previous versions that may not be immediately apparent. The architecture and processes facilitate the migration of this institutional knowledge, thus greatly reducing the time, cost, and resource expenditures spent re-creating similar components in an updated application and updated scripts to test those application components.

Abstract: An approach is provided for managing files in an online account. A file access platform causes, at least in part, retrieval of a file associated with a first communication stored in an online account. Next, the file access platform determines whether the file is modified after the retrieval and generates a second communication including a modified version of the file based, at least in part, on the determination. Then, the file access platform causes, at least in part, transmission of the second communication including the modified version to the online account.

Abstract: A system comprises a mobile device configured to facilitate communications with a network. The system may further comprise a plurality of various data services, an identification service and an aggregation service. The mobile device identifies a subject and initiates a search for the subject, searching at least one of the data services. The mobile device then provides a summary of the data to the user via the user interface on the mobile device.

Abstract: Included are embodiments for determining sort order. At least one embodiment of a method includes determining a plurality of search results associated with at least one search criteria. Abstract: There is provided a method of changing a theme for a user interface of a computer system comprising receiving an identification of an image with which to define a color palette of a theme for rendering elements of a user interface on a color display of the computer system; analyzing the image to determine at least one predominant color; and defining the color palette in response to the analysis. The image may comprise a background image selected by a user for display by the computer system. Dynamic generation of the color palette matches the user interface to colors to provide flexible and appealing themes. A computer readable memory having recorded thereon instructions to carry out this method is also provided, as well as a device comprising such memory.

Abstract: A system and method implemented at a communication device for providing access to telephony services over one or more of a number of communication networks, including cellular networks and IP-based fixed and wireless networks. A mobile device may be configurable for voice communication over both a cellular network and a LAN (e.g. a wireless LAN), and may be adapted to place and receive calls via a PBX over one of the cellular network and the LAN. When it is determined that the mobile device is configured for voice communication using one or both of the cellular network connection and the LAN connection, the mobile device may automatically adapt its user interface to reflect the availability of voice communication only over those connections that are available.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a gateway device which, when determining that a network device connected thereto is a web camera and receives a packet from the web camera, is able to automatically add a port of the gateway device connected with the network device to a VLAN designated by the gateway device and then add a specific group code to the packet to specify the VLAN, such that the gateway device can transmit the packet to the VLAN according to the specific group code. The gateway device is then able to automatically set transmission priority of the packet to a high priority, such that after the packet is transmitted out of the VLAN, the packet can be transmitted through a transmission channel with the high priority, so as to improve the convenience of using the web camera and assure the transmission priority of the packet in the VLAN.

Abstract: To keep track of which process each process job currently exits and when it comes in own charge or which job must be processed, it is necessary to use a workflow system on a PC, and this necessitates to move back and force between the PC and the apparatus, thereby leading to the deterioration of the operational efficiency. An object of the invention is to provide a system in which the apparatus and the workflow server are connected, and by moving forward the processing by using the operation unit of the apparatus, the workflow of the operator in the centralized copy room and the print center of the company can be smoothly moved forward.

Marking engine data contains information related to a print job sent to the marking engine and community data relates to resource usage by members of a plurality of communities within a system. A resource profiling component receives the marking engine data and the community data to evaluate resource usage by a user compared to one or more of a user within their community. A visualization component receives the evaluation from the resource profiling component, generates a graphic associated with the evaluation and presents and distributes the graphic to one or more recipients.

The background application executes on the mobile device, receives the at least some of the update, and stores the at least some of the update in a file in the mobile device. The background application also provides a uniform resource locator that specifies where the file is located to the user interface to enable the user interface to display the at least some of the update.

The information processing apparatus further includes an application program including a driver customization unit to customize a device driver in the absence of registration of the device driver in an operable manner to the operating system. Even when a printer driver for use on a particular OS is not customizable, it is possible to produce a customized driver corresponding to the printer driver in a manner specified by a user, thereby allowing customization to be performed in a highly efficient manner.

Abstract: A data management and archive method and apparatus, for implementation in an automated system to monitor and manage status, performance and configuration data for networked storage components. Analysis and cross-correlation of data related to the storage components can be done individually, collectively and/or comparatively. A collection manager component of a workload analyzer is implemented to start and stop data collection. The collection manager includes a command and control module that coordinates requests of data from at least one collection agent configured on at least one host connected to the storage component(s). The collection manager manages collection of data and effects file transfer of collected data according to a user specified policy, and maintains status of the data collected. The user specified policy allows the user to specify data collection “shifts” (i.e. periodicity).

Abstract: An activity diagram can be converted into code, by traversing the activity diagram to identify the cycles in the activity diagram. Each identified cycle can be stored in a list of cycles. Intermixed cycles among the list of cycles can be resolved. When resolving, the identified cycles can be compared one to another to determine if they have common nodes. If so one of the cycles can be removed from the list of cycles. The other cycle can be labeled as a GOTO loop. The activity diagram can be traversed. For each traversed node, code statements can be generated based on the node type and the labels associated with the node.

Abstract: Systems and methods for configuring and evaluating policies that direct processing of one or more data streams are described. A configuration interface is described for allowing users to specify object oriented policies. These object oriented policies may allow any data structures to be applied with respect to a payload of a received packet stream, including any portions of HTTP traffic. A configuration interface may also allow the user to control the order in which policies and policy groups are executed, in addition to specifying actions to be taken if one or more policies are undefined. Systems and methods for processing the policies may allow efficient processing of object-oriented policies by applying potentially complex data structures to unstructured data streams. A device may also interpret and process a number of flow control commands and policy group invocation statements to determine an order of execution among a number of policies and policy groups.

A first set of search results that are both (a) indexed in the first vertical and (b) relevant to the one or more query terms is determined. A second set of search results that are both (a) indexed in a second vertical, but not in the first vertical and (b) relevant to the one or more query terms is also determined. A search results page that contains search results both sets of search results, and that visually distinguishes the sets from each other, is generated. Abstract: The invention relates to an image reading apparatus and to a method of controlling this apparatus. The image reading apparatus acquires a profile capable of being set as processing applied to image data in an information processing device, re-classifies, for the purpose of display on the image reading apparatus, the name of the acquired profile and the settings of the profile, converts this profile name and the settings to items displayed on a display unit of the image reading apparatus, and displays the items on the display unit. Abstract: A method of region overlap control for the display of a plurality of waveforms on an instrument includes an overlap function that allows selection by a user of a vertical height on a display screen for each of the waveforms. A ground marker for each of the waveforms is adjusted on the display screen according to the selected vertical height. The result is that the plurality of waveforms are displayed on the display screen in an overlapping fashion with sufficient vertical height to enhance triggering, all measurement functions and secondary functions, such as harmonics and switching loss measurements.

The entry points are associated with services such as message services and are actuatable to invoke a content listing display for viewing content associated with a given service. Other entry points provide access to other message services or filtered views of the unified inbox. Access to the various entry points is provided via a user interface displaying one or more user interface elements, such as icons, pointing to the various entry points. Display of the elements is managed so as to hide elements pointing to potentially duplicative views.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a system that executes a native code module. During operation, the system obtains the native code module. Next, the system loads the native code module into a secure runtime environment. Finally, the system safely executes the native code module in the secure runtime environment by using a set of software fault isolation (SFI) mechanisms that maintain control flow integrity for the native code module and constrain store instructions in the native code module by bounding a valid memory region of the native code module with one or more guard regions.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed, which facilitates a terminal to be used in further consideration of user's convenience. The present invention includes displaying a channel list in which receivable channels including at least one pay broadcast channel are listed, receiving a broadcast viewing authority for watching the pay broadcast channel from a broadcast viewing authority server via a broadcasting network or an internet network, storing the received broadcast viewing authority, and updating the stored broadcast viewing authority each time a broadcast mode is entered. Accordingly, when the broadcast viewing authority is updated in the mobile terminal to prevent illegal copying or piracy of the broadcast viewing authority, the terminal user needs not to temporarily stop viewing the corresponding broadcast. Moreover, each time the mobile terminal enters a broadcast mode, an old broadcast viewing authority is deactivated and a new broadcast viewing authority is received.

The agent communicates with another device such as a network to retrieve or provide information. Information to or from the agent is displayed by an application in a window that is used by other applications, one application at a time. Information to or from the agent is also displayed in one or more windows, each window dedicated to a single pod, and such window being much smaller than the window displaying information from the application.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new method of site and user authentication. This is achieved by creating a pop-up window on the user's PC that is in communication with a security server, and where this communication channel is separate from the communication between the user's browser and whichever web site they are at. A legitimate web site embeds code in the web page which communicates to the security server from the user's desktop. The security server checks the legitimacy of the'web site and then signals both the web page on the user's browser, as well as the pop-up window to which it has a separate channel. The security server also sends a random image to both the pop-up window and the browser. If user authentication is requested by the web site the user is first authenticated by the security server for instance by out of band authentication. Then the security server computes a one time password based on a secret it shares with the web site and sends it to the pop up window.

A display processor initiates display of an image having display presentation characteristics determined by the image parameter selection data.
