Abstract: A vibration dampening brace for a motor enables altering the stiffness and reed critical frequency of a combined system of the motor and driven equipment without removal of the motor from a motor stand or support structure. The vibration dampening brace includes a first member configured to engage a portion of a housing of an electrical motor and a second member operatively connected to the first member to stiffen the bending moment of the electrical motor housing, resulting in the housing moving less with the vibrations generated by the combined system of the motor and the driven equipment. The vibration dampening brace alters the RCF of the motor system by a predetermined amount to modify the RCF of the combined system and ensure that the RCF of the combined system is outside a range of vibration frequencies that would amplify the motor vibrations.

Abstract: A flexure assembly includes two metallic flexure arrays molded into a thermoplastic support base. The two flexure arrays are positioned in parallel in the thermoplastic support base to allow rotational movement about one axis while providing high stiffness with respect to off-axis movement. Flexible supports in the two flexure arrays may be interleaved to form a cross flexure configuration. Off-axis stiffness of the flexure assembly prevents harmonic resonance in directions that cannot be compensated for in a single-axis actuator.

Abstract: An elastic retention wheel and a wafer adapter containing this wheel are disclosed. The elastic retention wheel comprises: a rim; a retention main body positioned within the rim; and a plurality of spokes. Each spoke is positioned in a space between the rim and the retention main body. One end of each spoke is coupled to the retention main body, and the other end is coupled to the rim. A sliding rail can be provided on an inner side of the rim, and the spoke's other end can slide with the sliding rail. When the elastic retention wheel is stressed by a non-uniform or excessive external force, these spokes provide enhanced support from the rim's inner side, or at least partially disperse the non-uniform external force applied to the elastic retention wheel. Thereby, the elastic retention wheel is largely kept from over-deformation or cracking.

Abstract: Disclosed therein is an apparatus for fixing hydraulic pipes for a construction machine having a hydraulic pipe clamp fixing a plurality of pipes to a boom structure, including: a lower clamp (20) having a mounting hole (21); a clamp position setting member (22) for fixing the lower clamp (20) to one side of the boom structure (100) through a clamp support member (23) coupled to the mounting hole (21); an upper clamp (30) coupled onto the lower clamp (20) and having an interference prevention groove (31) in which a head portion (23a) of the clamp support member (23) is placed; and vibration-proof members (41,42) attached to the interiors of the clamps (20,30) to absorb vibration of the pipe (10). When the pipes (10) are assembled or disassembled, the lower clamp (20) is fixed to the boom structure to set the positions of the pipe and the clamp, and thus the assembly is greatly improved.

  • Patent number: 8381463
Abstract: The invention is an energy absorbing system for safeguarding structures from disruptive forces, which may be implemented into structures or devices to provide protection from seismic motion, blasts or other disruptive forces, due to the system's displacement and damping characteristics. The system's performance can be better molded analytically to predict performance of the structure under earthquake and wind motions, for example. By utilizing cost effective materials and a simple design, the present invention provides a more efficient cost-effective system for absorbing unwanted energy, for example, a base isolation system.
