  • Patent number: 7488913
Abstract: A mountable circuit breaker is disclosed. The circuit breaker includes a housing having first and second housing members and a latch member. The housing defines a rail receptacle for mounting the circuit breaker on an elongated channel rail. The latch member includes a base portion that includes a movably positionable retainer that moves toward or away from a biased position that is established by a stem portion of the latch member. Movement away from the biased position expands the rail receptacle for mounting the circuit breaker to the rail channel when an external force is applied to a tool receptacle adjacent the junction of the base and stem portions of the latch member. Removing the external force results in the base portion returning to its biased position, securing the circuit breaker to the channel rail.

Abstract: To perform the temporary mounting of an electronic component housing unit, a clamp is inserted into a clamp hole formed in the load bearing face of a vehicle body. Then, a screw through hole in a grounding terminal is aligned with a screw hole formed in the load bearing face, and a screw is inserted therein and tightened to secure the earth portion of the grounding terminal to the load bearing face. At this time, rotational torque generated by tightening the screw is absorbed by the clamp that is directly fixed to the grounding terminal. Since the clamp is fixed directly to the grounding terminal, turning of the electronic component housing unit bearing the grounding terminal can be prevented, without stress being transmitted to a case and to other constituents.

  • Patent number: 7394451
Abstract: An apparatus for interfacing with a control system, and in particular a home automation system. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises an integrated LCD touch screen and motion sensor. The motion sensor is used to illuminate a backlight to the touch screen when a person approaches the apparatus. The sensitivity of the motion sensor may be adjusted through a graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen. In addition, the backlighting may be adjusted so that the illumination is at a specific level with the screen is on, i.e., when the motion sensor has been tripped, and a specific level when the screen is off. The apparatus may further comprise an IR receiver for receiving commands via a remote. In addition, the apparatus may be powered from a local bus or an external power supply. The apparatus may comprise a communications port for receiving customized pages from a computer.

  • Patent number: 7394458
Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB) assembly provides a two layer capacitive trackpad sensor in which an EMI ground grid is interposed among the sensor's capacitive elements on each of its layers. The EMI grid on each of the two layers is electrically coupled via, typically, vias. The described arrangement of sensor elements (capacitor plates) and EMI ground grid traces may be incorporated into a PCB having additional layers (e.g., a four, six or eight layer PCB). If used in this manner, additional vias are provided on the PCB which permit electrical coupling between these “additional layers” and which are electrically isolated from, and shielded by, the EMI ground grid.

Abstract: An exemplary display device includes a support member, a pair of displays slidably attached to the support member, and positioning members disposed between the displays and the support member. The support member includes a straight slideway, and a curved slideway defined therein. The curved slideway includes a slanting portion, and a first straight portion and a second straight portion extending out from opposite ends of the slanting portion. The straight slideway is parallel to the first straight portion of the curved slideway and in line with the second straight portion of the curved slideway. The displays are slidably received in the straight slideway and the curved slideway respectively. The displays may be positioned to form a large screen, or slid to overlap leaving a single display visible.

  • Patent number: 7383691
Abstract: The invention provides a modular network sensor assembly operable to sense environmental conditions at a computer or equipment rack. The network sensor assembly includes a flexible body operable to be folded along a central fold line. The central fold line separates the flexible body into a first panel and second panel. A number of mounting tabs are hingedly attached to either the first panel or second panel. These mounting tabs are operable to secure the network assembly to the computer rack. A number of sensor tabs are located along the central fold line. Addressable sensors capable of sensing environmental conditions are positioned proximate to the sensor tabs, and communicatively coupled to a common bus. A memory device is also communicatively coupled to the common bus and is operable to store configuration information and data associated with the sensed environmental conditions sampled by the addressable sensors.
