  • Patent number: 7227079
Abstract: A weatherproof cover for protecting electrical receptacles from the harsh elements of weather is disclosed herein. This novel weatherproof cover is operable while the electrical receptacle is in use and includes a weatherproof switch that controls power to the receptacle such that when the receptacle cover of the weatherproof cover is closed after the insertion of an electrical appliance plug, the weatherproof switch can be selected to the ON position to provide power to the receptacle. Power can be subsequently removed or disconnected from the receptacle by simply selecting the OFF position of the switch. Thus, the weatherproof cover protects the receptacle from damage “While-In-Use” and provides a disconnect switch to control power to the receptacle without having to open the receptacle cover.

Abstract: A single power distribution board having pin coded connectors may be used for both AC and DC power distribution to appropriate AC and/or DC power supplies in an information handling system. A common conductive layer may be used for either AC neutral or DC power supply return so as to eliminate one conductive layer in the power distribution board. Alternatively, total isolation of AC and DC power source inputs allow both AC and DC power supplies to operate together in a robust, redundant fashion. The DC power supplies in combination with a battery system may be used as an inexpensive uninterruptable power supply for the information handling system. Various DC and/or AC source voltages and frequencies may be coupled to appropriate power supplies through the pin coded connectors.

  • Patent number: 6965075
Abstract: A frame joining structure for electrical and electronic equipment housing cabinets, in which ends of frames are simplified in shape to dispense with complex cutting and which possesses excellent strength and waterproof property. Ends of outer side surfaces (4) of three mutually orthogonal frames (1a, 1b, 1c), which constitute a framework of a cabinet, are cut at two planes of ±45° relative to a plane defined by other two frames to be point-shaped. These ends are joined together directly or through a corner member (20) having the same configuration as that of the ends to constitute a firm corner portion.

  • Patent number: 6927336
Abstract: An interworking interface module for telecommunication switching systems has multiple interworking terminal I/O ports, tracking terminal I/O ports, and system terminal I/O ports, and an indicator lamp are mounted on the external panels of a mounting frame. Multiple connection modules are attached onto the inner surface of a mounting frame used for setting up interconnection between the above terminal I/O ports. Each connection module comprises a switching means, such that a terminal separated from the system connection is automatically switched to connect to a terminal resistor to damp any line oscillation due to open connection. Using the connection modules to interconnect the above terminals of the invention, the present invention is able to reduce the necessary interconnecting components and simplify the procedures for assembling a transit exchange platform, while the original service quality with respect to a line connection is maintained.

  • Patent number: 6920047
Abstract: An electronic control module provides dual insulation layers between an internal line voltage and a separate tool housing that serves as a heat sink, thereby allowing versatility in mounting the electronic control module within the tool housing interior, and thereby also eliminating the risk of electrical shock to a user making contact with an exterior tool housing surface. The control module includes a power device, connected to a line voltage, and a thermal pad. The power device provides a first layer of electrical insulation between the line voltage and an external tab of the power device while the thermal pad provides a second layer of electrical insulation. The combined first and second layers provide a minimum amount of electrical insulation between the line voltage and the tool housing thereby preventing electrical shock. Alternatively, the thermal pad is provided between the control module and the tool housing.
