Abstract: A multilayer circuit board and a manufacturing method for producing the board via simple manufacturing processes employing a droplet jetting method, where the inter-layer insulating film can be easily made flat. The multilayer circuit board includes at least two wiring layers, an inter-layer insulating film provided between every adjacent two of the wiring layers, and conductive posts for providing electrical conductivity between the wiring layers. The manufacturing method includes the step of forming the inter-layer insulating film by changing the film thickness of the inter-layer insulating film according to a concavo-convex shape of an area where the inter-layer insulating film is formed, so as to level an upper surface of the inter-layer insulating film. The concavo-convex shape may be computed based on design data of a circuit pattern for forming the wiring layers and the conductive posts, or may be measured before the inter-layer insulating film is formed.

Abstract: A circular audio amplifier positions the weighty components of its power supply at the bottom, and the audio amplifier portions at the top. Modular finned heat sinks about the audio amplifier portions are resiliently mounted to reduce the transmission of vibration therefrom into the audio amplifier portions. Each module of the heat sink includes copper wires spanning its vertical dimension to short out induced current from top to bottom of the relatively poor electrical conduction of the aluminum of which the heat sinks are made. The audio amplifier portions, except for the final amplifiers, are mounted on independently resiliently mounted parallel substrates. The low-signal substrates are mounted the furthest away from the power supply. All cable entries and exits include grooves surrounding them to suppress the entry of electrical interference. Wires between the power supply and the audio amplifier pass through ferrite beads to filter out high-frequency electrical signals.

In embodiments of the present invention, control circuitry is shared for both the oven and the radio. Embodiments of the present invention are advantageous, as a consumer desiring both a microwave oven and a radio need not buy these devices separately because they are combined in a single combination unit. The present invention is also advantageous, as the combination microwave oven and radio is less costly to produce than an oven and a radio that are separate devices. This is possible because many components (i.e. the casing and/or control circuitry) are shared between the two devices. Accordingly, a combination oven and radio may be more affordable to consumers.

Abstract: A packaged assembly including an interposer or substrate supporting on a first side thereof a chip that is encased with an encapsulant is described. A second side of the interposer or substrate includes a barrier that blocks the flow of encapsulant to create a uniform encapsulant edge on the second side of the interposer. The uniform edge helps prevent flaking of the encapsulant off the interposer. The packaged assembly is adapted to be used with a further electronic device to expand the capablilities of the further electronic device.
