Abstract: A continuous oil fryer used to fry food slices, such as potato chips, having an internal oil stripping capability. The fryer accumulates the steam produced by the frying process in a hood and utilizes such steam, after superheating the steam by passing it through a heat exchanger, to strip oil from product immediately upon removal from the hot oil bath by passing the superheated steam through a product bed while on an output conveyor. The superheated steam removes oil from the product on the output conveyor without increasing the moisture level of the product. Abstract: When a semiconductor wafer is preheated by halogen lamps, the temperature of a peripheral portion of the semiconductor wafer is lower than that of a central portion thereof. A laser light emitting part disposed immediately under the center of the semiconductor wafer is rotated about the center line of the semiconductor wafer, while laser light is directed from the laser light emitting part toward the peripheral portion of the semiconductor wafer. Thus, the irradiation spot of the laser light exiting the laser light emitting part swirls around along the peripheral portion of the back surface of the semiconductor wafer so as to draw a circular trajectory. As a result, the entire peripheral portion of the semiconductor wafer at a relatively low temperature is uniformly heated. This achieves a uniform in-plane temperature distribution of the semiconductor wafer.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to apparatus and methods for uniformly heating substrates. The apparatus include a transferable puck having at least one electrode and a dielectric coating. The transferable puck can be biased with a biasing assembly relative to a substrate, and transferred independently of the biasing assembly during a fabrication process while maintaining the bias relative to the substrate. The puck absorbs radiant heat from a heat source and uniformly conducts the heat to a substrate coupled to the puck. The puck has high emissivity and high thermal conductivity for absorbing and transferring the radiant heat to the substrate. The high thermal conductivity allows for a uniform temperature profile across the substrate, thereby increasing deposition uniformity. Abstract: A heater for piping includes a plurality of shells connected via hinges. The shells are adapted to be mounted on an outer circumferential wall of piping having a circular cross section to enclose the piping and form a polyhedron along the piping. Thermal insulators are disposed over entire surfaces of inner walls of the shells. A plurality of molds are disposed at the inner walls and are adapted to abut on the outer circumferential wall of the piping in the mounted state. A plurality of heating elements are disposed at the inner walls of the shells so that the heating elements are positioned in a space formed between corners of the polyhedron and the outer circumferential wall of the piping and extend in the longitudinal direction of the piping in the mounted state.

  • Patent number: 7947925
Abstract: There are provided a heater unit and a battery structure with heater, which are capable of heating the battery structure appropriately and preventing a heater (part or whole of the heater) itself from excessively increasing in temperature. A first heater unit is provided with a first sheet heater, a first holding member holding it, and a first sheet placed between a lower surface of a first heater and the first holding member in such a manner as to be deformable in at least a direction of thickness of the first heater. The first heater is deformed when the first heater unit is fixed to the battery pack 50, thereby pressing the lower surface of the first heater to bring an upper surface of the first heater into close contact with an outer surface (a surface to be heated) of a spaced part of the battery pack.
