  • Patent number: 6443322
Abstract: An equipment enclosure includes a set of features enabling alignment of an electronic component with an L-shaped wall bracket. The bottom of the component rests on a base of the bracket. A rear wall of the bracket includes fastener elements, such as threaded standoffs, and alignment posts that extend forward beyond the standoffs. The rear of the component likewise includes fastener elements, such as captive screws, and alignment openings. During installation, the component is brought into a position in which the alignment openings engage the alignment posts, and then the component is pushed rearward until it abuts the rear wall of the bracket. The fasteners become mutually aligned for subsequent fastening.

Abstract: A keyboard includes a keyboard body similar to a traditional keyboard. The keyboard body has an edge from which an additional portion extends. The portion has a top face on which an EL panel or a thin plate having patterns and/or figures printed thereon is placed. A transparent cover is openably attached to the portion for covering the top face and thus housing the EL panel or the thin plate. The cover may be hinged to the portion whereby it is movable between a closed position and an open position. Alternatively, the cover is releasably attached to the portion whereby the cover can be removed for replacing a new EL panel or a new thin plate having different patterns printed thereon. The EL panel or the printed thin plate serves the purpose of decoration and enhances the appeal of the keyboard to the general consumers.

Abstract: A quick connecting universal electrical box system for mounting of electrical sockets, switches or any electronic or communication component that is typically installed into a wall is disclosed. The system has a mounting frame and an electrical box, which can be pre-wired with any socket unit or component, such that installation of the electrical box into a wall is greatly simplified. The mounting frame is first inserted into a wall, followed by insertion of the electrical box into the mounting frame. The action of inserting the electrical box into the mounting frame forces flaps in the mounting frame to engage and lock the mounting frame into the wall. Retaining studs formed on flexible side panels of the electrical box then engage with corresponding openings in the mounting frame to secure the electrical box within the mounting frame. Secure installation of this electrical box is simple and quick without the need for any tools or fastening screws.

This enables the modular units to be held together from above, whilst the underside of the units can be connected together by brass bus bars or the like to provide a secure electrical connection between adjacent units, so that the modular units can be connected together box physically and electrically. Each of these modular units 8, 9, 10, etc can be provided with a switch, fuse, or other electrical component, so that the modular units can be connected together to form an entire switchboard or instrument panel.
