Abstract: The combination of a soft-goods item of folded fabric adapted to be displayed in a stack, and labeling for each item, has at least one band engaged around the item, spanning at least one of the narrow edge surfaces of the item. A self-supporting tag has a pair of slots spaced from each other and defining a labeling information carrying portion therebetween, and a pair of straps extending along each slot. The tag is threaded on the band which extends through both of the slots, and the tag is positioned at the edge surface so that the labeling information carrying portion is visible at the edge surface in a stack of the such items.

Abstract: A tamper-evident label suitable for placement onto a container and cap assembly. The label may be characterized as a planar sheet having a tear strip that divides upper and lower panels. The lower panel of the label attaches to the container, while the upper panel, defined by at least one tab, and preferably two tabs, is attached to the cap. To open the container and cap assembly, the tear strip is pulled across the label to separate the two panels of the label. Thereafter, the cap may be removed from the container to reveal the contents of the container.

Abstract: A claim tag assembly has a first layer of card stock and a second layer of card stock with a liner sandwiched therebetween. Score lines are cut through the layers of card stock and the liner to define a first identification portion and a second identification portion. A first identifier is printed on the first identification portion for conveying a first message and a second identifier is printed on the second identification portion for conveying a second message which is identical to the first message. The first and second identification portions can then be matched after separation. The score lines further defining a card with the card being separable from the first and second identification portions. The card has at least promotional indicia and/or a coupon printed thereon for providing a marketing aspect to the claim tag assembly. Preferably, the card has a plurality of mini-coupons which can be detached from the card.

The tab appears on the product to notify the consumer the product needs replacement before its actual depletion. The tab has indicia that states the exact number of product left. Once the tab appears, the tab is then intended to be removed from the product and attached to the side of the product dispenser as a noticeable reminder, placed in a wallet, or on a shopping list. The indicator tab bears the name or image of the product. The tab has a removable coupon with a UPC bar code attached to it that will encourage the consumer to replace the exact same product. This device enables a consumer to readily determine the exact type of product needing replenishment with the convenience of replacement before its actual depletion.

The resilient hoop member extends between the cup member and the plug member.

Abstract: A hangtag is provided that is capable of hanging and securing a tool, such as socket. The invention pertains to a hangtag mechanism that includes a locking mechanism for securing a socket style tool. The hangtag has a body portion having a front surface and a back surface, a hanging mechanism connected to the body portion, and a tool supporting mechanism also connected to the body portion for supporting a tool. The tool supporting mechanism includes first and second legs and a locking finger disposed between the first and second legs. The locking mechanism allows the particular tool to be reattached to the hangtag assembly after it is initially unlocked. This allows the hangtag to function as a storage and organization device for the tool.

Abstract: Tags which would be made up in an abundance of dimensions, sizes, shapes, colors, fabrics, synthetics, with designs such as animals, fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, numerals, symbols, initials, words, figures, flags, shapes, sign language, sea life, zodiac signs, smiley faces, etc. Said device would be attached to an object by any of several means, including a strap, ribbon, rubber/plastic band, chain, or clip.

Abstract: A unique packaging method is disclosed. The method advertises products related to a product shipped in a box and comprises obtaining a box, placing a product in the box, and identifying a particular product category associated with the product being shipped in the box. This may be followed by obtaining an elongated flexible planar member having a width and a length substantially greater than the width, the planar member having an upper surface and a lower surface. The flexible planar member is provided with a layer of adhesive material deposited on and covering a substantial portion of the lower surface to form a packaging tape. The tape is imprinted with indicia comprising visually perceivable information to provide a purchaser with information relating to various products within the particular product category by disposing the information on the upper surface of the tape. The box is sealed with the tape.

Abstract: An information ring for use with a catheter is disclosed. The information ring includes a body having a first end and a second end. The body has a first body face extending between the first end and the second end, and a second, generally convex face extending between the first end and the second end. The body has an opening extending therethrough between the first body face and the second face. A first indicia portion is located at the first end. The first indicia portion has a first indicia face sized to allow indicia to be printed on the first indicia face.

Abstract: An article of manufacture such as a soft cover portfolio, desk folder, or similar article, includes a graphic image provided thereon by transferring an image from a source to a processor which is operable to control a printer to print multiple images on a sheet of polyvinyl chloride or the like. The printed images may be protected by laminating a transparent vinyl sheet over the larger image sheet and the images are then precut to final size. The final individual image sheets are applied directly to the article of manufacture or to a member of flexible material to be used in forming an article of manufacture by, preferably, RF sealing the image sheet to the member which will form a part of the article. The precisely cut image sheet may be supported on a debossing die or placed on the member which will form the article, then struck by the debossing die.

Strength of the electroformed nameplate is improved by providing the flange around the nameplate portion of the electroformed nameplate. Abstract: A marking element is proposed for marking timber, especially tree trunks, having a tag-like marking element (9) with at least one fastening element (11, 12) disposed on it for fastening the marking element (10) to the timber to be marked. To provide the marking, the marking element furthermore has a transponder (14) incorporating a data storage for the wireless transmission of data. This permits the wireless storing and reading of a multitude of data without requiring visual contact.

Abstract: A write on label device comprises a label having an upper surface and lower surface. A write on surface formed on the upper surface of the label, with the write on surface being receptive to markings from a wide variety of writing implements substantially without smudging of the marking. An adhesive layer is formed over at least a portion of the lower surface of the label and has properties which allow peel off removal of the label from a surface on which it is mounted.

Abstract: A stock locator system utilizes a first indicia to designate a bay within a retail environment, a second indicia to designate a shelf within that bay, and a third indicia to designate a location within that shelf. A user may thereby determine the location of a desired item by finding that item on a chart, determining the bay, shelf, and location within the shelf where that item is located, and proceeding to that location.

Abstract: An information-bearing laminar assembly, suitable for use as an identification card, is disclosed. The assembly is characterized by the provision therein of an embedded halftone image security feature that becomes visible essentially only when the assembly is viewed in transmitted light. The information-bearing laminar assembly comprises an inner information-bearing layer interposed between a first and a second light-transmissive protective outer layer. The inner layer contains both visible information-bearing indicia and an imagewise halftone pattern of laser-ablated microholes. The light-transmissivity of the information-bearing inner layer within said half-tone pattern is imagewise differentiated at each microhole as a function of the microhole's penetration depth.

Abstract: A laminate of transparent flexible material is formed to the precise size of a substrate and is made so that it will be laminated in place on the substrate. The laminate is in an elongated web that is separated into individual laminate sections by transverse lines of reduced tear strength so that the laminate sections can be removed from the web sequentially.

Abstract: An adhesive leaflet assembly is provided having a carrier web and a plurality of lengthwise oriented leaflet sub-assemblies releasably adhered on the web. The leaflet sub-assemblies have adhesive wing-like extensions that are oriented in a longitudinal direction relative to the carrier web. Longitudinal orientation of these wing-like extensions facilitates application of the leaflet sub-assemblies onto articles having a flat or planar surface in a high-speed continuous labeling operation. A method of providing a leaflet assembly, as well as a method for applying leaflet sub-assemblies are also provided.

Abstract: A computer-controlled identifier tag production system. The system employs perforated plastic sheets comprising a plurality of transparent identifier tags. The sheets are designed to be fed through a conventional ink jet or laser printer to print one or more of the tags in accordance with user input. Each sheet is a single layer in thickness and is sufficiently flexible and heat-stable such that it will not deform if passed through a printer multiple times. The printed tags are used in conjunction with a plastic holder and backer plate to form an adhesive-free identifier tag assembly. The backer plate is preferably a rigid metal plate which may be embossed with indicia, such as a corporate logo. The identifier tag assembly may further include a magnet or pin fastener for temporarily affixing the backer plate to an article of clothing.

Abstract: A tag having a reinforcible opening is disclosed. The tag includes first and second major surfaces. It further includes an adhesive layer affixed to one of the major surfaces and substantially covered by a removable liner material. The tag has two openings arranged such that when the liner material is removed and the tag is folded along a fold line the adhesive bonds the tag into a folded position wherein the openings are aligned to form a single continuous opening through the tag.

The resulting tag, and the information displayed thereby, are extremely resistant to deterioration by sunlight and other elements. In addition, the surface of the information panel of the resulting tag has a high slip factor that discourages obscurement of the displayed information by manure or other materials adhering to the tag.

The advantage over previous prior art devices is that both the diffractive message and the tamper evident message are encoded within the microstructure without any need for additional coating or print layers in the device.

Abstract: A portable accident marking system to be used in conjunction with a rigid structure such as a snowboard, skis or the like, in order to alert others of an accident. The system is pliable so that when not in use it can easily fold and fit into a small pocket. The system includes a main body, cords or elastic bands, and two opposing end caps wherein the cords attach the end caps to the main body. Each end cap includes a pocket which captures the tip or tail of a snowboard. Retainer clips are then used with each cord to adjust the fit of the system. Bright colours, reflective material, and indicia are used to make the system highly visible.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for delivering an instructional or motivational message to a person engaged in an activity requiring skill. The message is displayed on the upper surface of a message carrier, which is removably coupled to a message base, which in turn is attached to an article. The article can be a shirt, hat, golf club grip, golf club head cover, hat-clip, or other desired surface. It is preferred to provide more than one article, and to provide a message carrier that may be interchangeably inserted into more than one base.

Abstract: A single use product tag configured for use with a filament fastener to attach the tag to a manufactured article, e.g., a garment. The tag comprises a housing having an access channel leading to an interior cavity. The crossbar end of a filament fastener can be inserted through the access channel for placement into the interior cavity. A closure device is mounted in the tag housing for movement from an open position to a sealing position to block the access channel so as to prevent removal of the crossbar end of the fastener and prevent the insertion of another fastener.

A backing layer between the skin layer and the 4-way stretchable material layer can be inserted for support. The wrap-around advertising surface of the present invention is designed to be releasably attachable to the railing or other hand support system.

Abstract: An identification labeling system comprising a faceplate with a recess and a label cover that may be retained within the recess. The label cover may have compartments for retaining identification labels. The label cover has latching legs and the recess has a complementary retention ledge. A lift slot may be provided to facilitate removal of the label cover. The recess may contain holes to accommodate individual molded identification icons. The recess may include tapered corners to accommodate strip labels of different widths and lengths, such labels being positioned by the tapered corners of the recess and the label cover. The recess includes end configurations that prevent a label from passing through the surface of the faceplate. The label cover has a thickness so as to be flush with the faceplate. The label may be the same color as the faceplate.

Abstract: A metallized thermoplastic label includes a first skin layer containing a thermoplastic and a first cavitating agent, wherein the first skin layer has a first side and a second side, the first skin layer is cavitated, and the first side of the first skin layer is adapted to be used in contact with a cold glue adhesive. The label further includes a cavitated core layer and a second skin layer that is metallized. The particle size of the cavitating agent in the core layer is selected to achieve a desired appearance, especially luster, of the metal layer.

Abstract: A unitary label adapted for affixation to an object such as a product container. The label includes a first portion which is affixable to an object to be labeled and a second portion contiguous with the first portion. The label is wrapped about the target object and the combined length of the label is greater than the circumference of the object whereby the second portion functions as a resealable and/or removable flap which offers additional available print areas on both its top and bottom surfaces. A method for making the unitary label is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is that of a health information card which is designed to relay specific information as to a person's present sexually transmitted disease (STD) status. The health information card is designed to be frequently updated so as to be reasonably accurate with regard to a user's current health condition. While obviously not a guarantee nor an endorsement that a particular person would presently be disease-free, the health information card would be designed to promote a cleaner lifestyle and raise awareness with regard to the presence of STD's and various preventative mechanism in which individuals can reduce or eliminate the chances of getting STD's.

Abstract: A label display system includes a deployable label base to display labels, such as regulatory and/or certification marking labels, for an electronic and/or portable computing device. The deployable label base moves between a first position and a second position, where the labels are viewable in the first position, and where at least some of the labels are concealed from view in the second position. The deployable label base includes a first side to display labels and at least a second side to display labels. The deployable label base can be flexible and include or encase a security cable to secure the electronic and/or portable computing device.

Abstract: A reusable labeling construction, and container incorporating the same to permit parcel shipment comprises a removable label and a label panel. The removable label includes strip material for receiving information corresponding to an address of an intended recipient and an adhesive layer. The label panel is adapted to be supported by the container body and includes a transparent surface portion formed of a material to which the adhesive will adhere sufficiently to retain the label on the transparent surface portion during shipment, yet from which it may be removed without tearing the strip material. A methodology of shipping parcels is also provided which contemplates preparation of a shipping package having such a reusable labeling construction.
