Abstract: High pressure fuel pump includes a cylinder which is fitted in a concave portion formed in a pump housing and which defines a compression chamber of the pump and a plunger which pressurizes, by sliding against the cylinder, the fluid in the compression chamber. It is structured such that the fluid sucked into the compression chamber by reciprocating motion of the plunger is pressurized and is then discharged from the compression chamber. The cylinder is formed of a cylindrical member which has a ceiling portion and in which the compression chamber is partitionedly formed. A fuel suction path formed in the pump housing reaches the compression chamber through the cylinder and a fuel discharge path formed in the pump housing is connected to the compression chamber through the cylinder. The cylinder is pressed against the pump body by a fuel pressurizing force applied to the cylinder.

Abstract: In order to provide a welded structure of and welding method for two metallic parts fitted together at a tubular section in a high-pressure fuel supply pump, an electric current is supplied to any of the welding connection surfaces formed between a pump housing and cylinder in a high-pressure fuel supply pump, between the pump housing and an installation flange, between the pump housing and an intake or discharge joint, between the pump housing and a pulsation-absorbing damper cover, between the pump housing and a relief valve mechanism, and between the pump housing and an electromagnetically driven intake valve mechanism. The two sections are pressed against each other to generate, along the connection surface, a plastic flow not causing melting or fusion due to heat, and form a diffusion-weld region at the connection surface by using the plastic flow and the application of the pressure.

Abstract: A modular pump assembly for pumping a viscous liquid, such as liquid manure. The viscous liquid is conveyed under pressure from an admission line to an evacuation line. The assembly has a base between the admission and evacuation lines. The base receives and conveys the liquid manure. The base can also be partitioned into separate sections 14 or chambers, thereby increasing pumping capacity and efficiency. At least one pump is vertically mounted to the base, and operates in a receiving configuration for receiving the liquid manure, and a pumping configuration for pumping the liquid manure. The inlet and out of the base are adjacent or coterminous with either another pump's inlet and outlet, or with another assembly, thereby allowing a pressurized flow of liquid manure through multiples pumps and/or assemblies arranged in series.

Abstract: An air pump cylinder has a housing, a cover and an O-ring. The housing includes a connecting tube. The connecting tube has a plurality of projections extending therefrom. The cover is hermetically engaged with the connecting tube of the housing and includes a cap. The cap has an annular sidewall and a plurality of grooves. The grooves are formed in the annular sidewall and each groove has an axial portion and a locking portion. The projections of the connecting tube of the housing are disposed into the axial portions of the grooves and the cover is then rotated to make the projections engage the locking portions of grooves and to make the O-ring tightly clamped between the connecting tube of the housing and the cap of the cover. Therefore, the air pump cylinder can be easily assembled and manufactured without the use of bolts.

Abstract: Between a movable core chamber and a fuel supply passage, a needle guide slidably supports a needle fixed to a movable core. The needle guide has a communication hole which fluidly connects the movable core chamber and the fuel supply passage. An opening sectional area of the communication hole is defined in such a manner that a fuel discharged amount decreases as an energization start time of a coil is delayed. In a suction stroke, it is restricted that the movable core and the needle bounce toward the fixed core after the needle biases a suction valve toward a stopper by means of a biasing force of a second spring. A relationship between the energization start time of the coil and the fuel discharged amount is properly maintained, so that the fuel discharged amount of the high-pressure pump can be controlled correctly.
