Implementations of the present invention comprise a novel apparatus to lift the thread away from the weft hair extension and the braided hair and cut the thread. Abstract: A hair accessory is provided for producing wavy hair. In one embodiment a hair accessory comprises a hair molding body made up of separate first and second portions which pivot about at least one hinge. The first and second portions respectively define first and second interior surfaces which cooperatively define a wave shaped mold for producing wavy hair. The first and second portions can be forced towards each other using at least one elastic band tied around the exterior of the hair molding body to force the first and second portions towards each other. In the alternative, the at least one hinge is preferably at least one spring hinge that biases the first and second portions together. In a second embodiment the hair accessory lacks a hinge.

Abstract: A hair styling device including a handle and a body connected thereto. A plurality of hair separating members comprising fine hair separators and coarse hair separators are secured to the body and extend outwardly therefrom. The body may be hollow and include a plurality of openings through an external wall, and at least one hair separating member is disposed through each opening. The coarse hair separators are structured to create spaces between sections of hair upon use, through which hot air can be applied. Moreover, the coarse hair separators are evenly dispersed throughout the body for more efficient hair drying.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for treating head lice infestations are described. Some embodiments include a nit (louse egg) detection plate that provides a surface against which irregularities of a hair of a person are more apparent to a viewer than without the detection plate. The detection plate may also include a serrated edge that is operable to separate hairs of the person for viewing over the detection plate. Other embodiments provide a method for using the detection plate to detect and remove nits from hairs of a person. The method may include placing a thin layer of hair of a person over the detection plate, detecting nits by viewing the hairs against a backdrop provided by the detection plate, and removing any detected nits.

The cap may be shaped and textured to increase contact surface area and friction and hold the device against the stylist's clothes. Abstract: An air flow deflector for use with a hood-type hair dryer is a thick, resiliently compressible, unitary halo with an inner perimeter of length suited to surround and abut, preferably with tension, against the subject's head when the halo's inner perimeter is contoured approximately immediately below the subject's hair line. The halo deflects the flow of warm air away from exposed skin portions of the head, neck and shoulders. An arcuate upturned extension on its front portion deflects air flow back to the interior of the hood of the dryer. The unitary halo may be continuous or split for adjustability and hinged for increased manipulability.

Abstract: A non-aqueous liquid cleaning composition for applicators used for applying non-aqueous hair removal compositions to the skin. The composition includes a solubilizing oil effective for solubilizing the non-aqueous hair removal composition, e.g., mineral oil, and an effective antibacterial amount of an antibacterial agent, e.g., triclosan. The composition may also include fragrances and additional bacteriocides, e.g., phenoxyethanol. When the applicator is contacted with the heated cleaning composition any hair removal composition and bacteria on the applicator are removed therefrom and the applicator is ready for reuse. It is preferred to use surgical stainless steel applicators. Also provided are methods of using these compositions and kits containing, among other items, such compositions and applicators.

The device and method of the present disclosure may be employed to weave four or more strands of material into a braid.

The invention further relates to air-water jet devices for providing said skin treatment. Accordingly it is an object of the invention to provide for a device and process for deep pore skin cleansing, especially, a process for skin cleansing using reduced amounts of water. We have found that a skin cleaning device comprising an air-water jet, wherein the air and water are mixed outside the nozzle(s), provides improved cleansing of skin, including deep poor cleansing, with low usage of water.

The cord comprises an absorbent material that is resistant to chemical attack by perm chemicals and is capable of absorbing the perm chemicals.

Abstract: A system and a method treat lice and nits on a head of a patient. The system includes a cap for defining an airtight space around the head and a container for storing a mixture of gases for treating lice, a gas release mechanism for delivering the mixture of gases into the airtight space as an aerosol, and a gas distribution device having plurality of gas delivery pins. The mixture of gases causes irreversible damage to essential mechanisms of the lice. According to another embodiment of the present invention the system includes a cap for defining an airtight space around the head and an active agent container. The active agent of the type of acetic acid, stored in a liquid state, and vaporized during use, then circulated toward the cap.

Abstract: This invention is a cylindrical device placed on your finger or thumb and contains a 3 piece apparatus that can be detached coming out of the cylinder wither vertically at the apex, or on the sides. There is a pick sticking directly upwards from the finger and a mini comb and a brush between 90 to 180 degrees on each end of the pick (alternative manufacturing methods). The pick is pushed into the center of the braid and will break the braid apart. The comb or brush is used to straighten the hair as the pick breaks the braid apart. The entire process, while usually performed with two hands, can be accomplished with one hand thus making the device easier, less tiring and less expensive than alternative devices currently on the market.

Abstract: Agent for changing the color and/or permanently changing the shape of keratinic fibers, wherein the agent contains in a cosmetic carrier at least one color- and/or shape-changing component as well as an animal-based care agent, in particular royal jelly, in combination with a polyalkoxylated fatty substance. The agents are suitable for reducing hair damage which occurs in connection with oxidative hair treatment such as oxidative hair coloring, hair lightening and perming.
