Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated pest control dust applicator device for remote applications, such as bug or bee or hornet spraying in high areas, e.g., trees, overhangs, porch roofs, dormers, eaves, etc. Thus, the automated pest control dust applicator device includes: an elongated support pole having a predetermined length and having a distal end and a proximal end; a dust dispensing nozzle located proximate the distal end of the pole, and connected to a dust reservoir; a conduit and a compressor, with appropriate controls. The dust reservoir is located at the distal end of the elongated support pole. The dust reservoir has an air inlet connected to the conduit, and has an outlet connected to the dust dispensing nozzle for dispersion of the dust. The conduit extends from the dust reservoir a substantial distance in length along the elongated support pole and is connected at its lower end to an air compressor.

  • Patent number: 6790011
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for diffusing drops of at least one liquid, the device being of the type comprising at least one liquid displacement path defined by a series of pairs of close-together surfaces (4a, 6a, . . . , 14a) enabling liquid to be retained and to be displaced from one pair of surfaces to another. The device comprises: both a series of pairs of close-together surfaces (4a, 6a, . . . , 14a) defining at least one displacement path, and co-operating to store the liquid, to form drops of liquid, and to move liquid drops to an outlet from said path leading towards a drop destination site; and electric field application means applying a determined sequence of electric fields between the pairs of close-together surfaces so as to form drops of liquid from the liquid storage, and to move and mix the drops of liquid to the drop outlet of said path.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stable, aqueous odor-absorbing composition, preferably for use on inanimate surfaces. The composition comprises from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin and an effective amount of at least one ingredient to improve the performance of the composition selected from the group consisting of: (1) cyclodextrin compatible surfactant; (2) cyclodextrin compatible antimicrobial active; and (3) mixtures thereof. Hydrophilic perfume improves acceptance. Optionally, the composition can contain low molecular weight polyols; metallic salts to help control odor; a humectant, etc. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric. The composition is preferably applied as small particle size droplets, especially from spray containers, preferably non-manually operated sprayers.

  • Patent number: 6703005
Abstract: A deodorant or antiperspirant soft solid composition is filled into dispensing containers by injection moulding, i.e. under pressure, preferably in the vicinity of its normal setting temperature. The deodorant or antiperspirant composition is preferably continuously produced in a screw extruder, especially a twin screw extruder, controlled to deliver the composition in a suitably viscous state under low shear and particularly for formulations in which a particulate antiperspirant is suspended in a fluid carrier. The pressure in the injection head at the point of injection is greater than 120 kPa and in many instances from 800 to 2000 kPa. The combined process offers benefits for controlled fill of dispensing containers, particularly for formulations incorporating sensitive ingredients and offers tolerance in composition temperature at the time of fill.
