Abstract: An apparatus and method for processing image data are provided. Using the method of the present invention, image data output from an image sensor can be rapidly processes and the necessary amount of buffer memory can be reduced. To this end, first image data of one frame is processed and converted into second image data in an image sensor part. The converted second image data is stored in a plural buffer memory having a plurality of storage areas. The second image data is sequentially read from the plural buffer memory, and then encoded.

Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus includes a non-equidistant section determination circuit, a sample data register, and an interpolation computation circuit. The non-equidistant section determination circuit detects a non-equidistant section having different intervals between plural sample points set for the dynamic range of a video signal to be inputted. The sample data register holds the signal level (correction level) of a video signal after correction for each sample point. The interpolation computation circuit obtains the signal level of the video signal after correction by executing cubic interpolation computation with reference to the correction level. Here, a first section is defined as a section located on a lower signal level side and having intervals of X (X>0) between sample points, and a second section is defined as a section located on a higher level side and having intervals of Y (Y>0, X?Y) between sample points.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for detecting and interpolating still pixels. In certain embodiments, the systems and methods establish a still pixel level for each still pixel, and using that still pixel level, provide an interpolation procedure for determining the pixel value of a selected pixel at a frame a distance ? from frame F(t?1). Disclosed embodiments are capable of providing motion compensated interpolation results for a wide variety of circumstances, including cases where the endpoints of the motion vector of a selected pixel to be interpolated vary between substantially still and not still, as well as cases where mixtures of temporal and motion compensation interpolations are necessary. Still pixel candidates may be refined in a process where pixels that may be properly handled by standard motion compensation interpolation techniques are eliminated.

The system generally comprises an image capturing device and an electronic display; both operatively coupled to a processor. The processor may be configured to receive image data from the image capturing means and display that data on the electronic display so that the electronic display operates as an electronic viewfinder. The processor can be configured to also display one or more reference lines overlaying the image displayed on the viewfinder. The reference lines may be alterable by the user so that the user can better use the reference lines to help the user properly position the image capturing device when the user is capturing or preparing to capture an image.

  • Patent number: 7289159
Abstract: Method and arrangement for capturing and automatically formatting video signals in both synchronized and deflection driven forms in which a single real-time capture module is provided including three input channels for receiving the video signals, three analog to digital converters for processing the video signals and three dynamic memories. Data from the converters is stored in the three dynamic memories. A line location look-up table is generated during the storage of data which holds the starting address of the stored lines of synchronized video. A video signal is then generated by addressing the line location look-up table.

  • Patent number: 7268831
Abstract: A method and apparatus for isolating a noise intolerant device, e.g., a phase-lock loop of a tuner within a television receiver, from source of noise. In one embodiment, the apparatus isolates a phase-lock loop integrated circuit (IC) from the bus, by providing an isolation buffer that allows the receiver to only pass data to the tuner's phase-lock loop IC when a tune command is issued by a processor. When not being tuned, the IIC lines to the tuner are held HIGH by a buffer until needed again to perform the tuning function. This allows the demodulation circuitry to use a setting for a carrier tracking-loop that optimizes bit error rate performance.

Abstract: Frame memories for delaying an input video signal for one frame respectively are connected in series. A dot interference detecting device detects variation between the input video signal and the delayed signals delayed for different frames of a pixel at the same position on a screen. When a dot interference is detected, a dot eliminating device eliminates the dot interference.

Abstract: The invention provides a picture signal processor comprising: a sampling circuit that receives picture signals of a plurality of standard colors separated from a video signal and samples the picture signals of the plurality of standard colors in turn repeatedly; and an interpolation filter that receives the sampling values sampled from the plurality of standard colors in the sampling circuit and finds interpolated values at a common reference interpolation time for all the standard colors by subjecting the sampling values to interpolation calculation for each standard color. The use of the interpolated values at the reference interpolation time can reduce the color blur of the color video signal.

Abstract: An A/D conversion apparatus of a digital video system includes an A/D converter for converting an input analog video signal to a digital signal on the basis of a reference voltage value input from the outside and outputting the digital signal; and a reference voltage supplying portion for supplying the A/D converter with a predetermined number of the reference voltage value sequentially and repeatedly during a predetermined time period. Accordingly, since the quantization error can be minimized during the A/D conversion in the digital video system without increasing the number of the quantization bits, the image quality can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7113225
Abstract: A 525i (interlace) signal can be converted into a 1050i signal or a 525p (progressive) signal. A calculating circuit generates pixels of an output picture signal with a linear estimation expression of predictive taps received from a tap selecting circuit and a coefficient received from a coefficient memory. The coefficient memory stores coefficients pre-obtained for individual classes. A class is determined by combining a spatial class corresponding to spatial class taps received from a tap selecting circuit and motion class taps received from a tap selecting circuit. A line sequential converting circuit converts a scanning line structure of an output signal of the calculating circuit 34 and obtains an output picture signal. The output picture signal is designated with a conversion method selection signal. Information corresponding to the selection signal is loaded from an information memory bank to the coefficient memory and registers.
