  • Patent number: 4570743
Abstract: In order to hold at a minimum the noise emission of the winding gear in a winding unit of a spinning machine for the processing of endless filaments, the winding unit is provided with a noise protection door which is pivotingly translatable from an initial or idle position at the side of the winding unit into an operating position in front of the winding unit. The noise protection door comprises a guide portion which is supported or guided by means of rolls and guide pins and a noise protection portion pivotally supported on the guide portion by means of pivot pins. The guide pins forming part of the guide portion and the guide pins forming part of the noise protection portion project into two guide grooves arranged in mirror-image fashion, one of which is provided in a floor plate and the other in a cover of the winding unit. Thus the guide portion is guided in a straight line and the noise protection portion is pivotally guided.

  • Patent number: 4433537
Abstract: Thermoplastic filamentary material is continuously formed into a row of helically coiled or zigzag coupling elements for slide fasteners. One of the coupling elements as thus formed is measured for a dimension thereof. The measured dimension is compared with a reference value to detect a dimensional error, if any, of the measured one of the continuous coupling elements. The tensioning of the thermoplastic filamentary material prior to being formed into the row of coupling elements is adjustably controlled on the basis of the dimensional error so as to remove the latter from subsequently formed coupling elements. The measurement of the coupling element may be effected while the row of coupling elements as formed is being held at rest.

  • Patent number: 4275554
Abstract: The servicing apparatus is mounted for running movement along, and for pivotal movement laterally of, a path of travel having a first section extending adjacent spinning units of the spinning machine and a second section extending adjacent an end cabinet of the spinning machine. During movement of the apparatus from the first and to the second section of its path of travel, it is pivoted laterally of such path to provide clearance between interfering components of the apparatus and the cabinet of the machine that would otherwise preclude movement of the apparatus along the second section of its path of travel. Pivotal movement of the apparatus is realized by a cam means so located as to not impede traffic adjacent the machine or access to the interior of its end cabinet, and as to minimize the magnitude of the force required to produce the aforesaid pivotal movement.

  • Patent number: 3974633
Abstract: In a textile yarn twister, means for mounting idler pulleys and the drive tape tensioner spring transversely across the width of the twister between its opposing spindle rails resiliently. The pulleys are rigidly supported by and are interconnected with a transverse beam positioned between a pair of opposing spindle assemblies, the beam being vertically interconnected with each of the spindle rails by a resilient, vibration damping, isolation mount. Shock absorber elements are horizontally interposed between the transverse beam and the spindle rails to prevent shearing of the isolation mounts upon start-up or stoppage of the twister. Adjacent transverse beams are rigidly interconnected by elongate rigid members spaced away from the spindle rails to provide, in all, transverse and longitudinal stability of a plurality of the present mounting means relative the spindle assemblies associated therewith.

  • Patent number: 3964247
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved false twist spindle having means for attenuating noises which are emitted during operation. The spindle according to the invention contains sound-reducing means which allow free access to the various components of the spindle, which means are formed by an enveloping insulating plate which partly surrounds the spindle assembly, and an insulating ring or cylinder surrounding the twist tube in its part equipped with the twist locking means. The invention applies primarily to high-speed false twist spindles in which the twist is imparted by means of a twist tube equipped with twist locking means.

  • Patent number: 3955906
Abstract: Method and system for transporting a filament-bundle from a spinning process to a successive drawing process in a factory of producing synthetic filament yarns. The filament bundle is transported by means of can-transportation system between two desired positions along a fixed carrying passage automatically. Full packaged cans filled with the filament bundle are transported along the fixed carrying passage by a carrying means from a receiving position below a delivery mechanism of a spinning equipment to a creeling passage adjacent to a creel of a drawing equipment, and empty cans are carried from the creeling passage to a reserving position along a fixed passage for the carrying means and thereafter carried to the above-mentioned receiving position one by one. The motion of the carrying means is controlled by a control means involving a control computer.

  • Patent number: 3946545
Abstract: Spindle units adjacent each side of a textile twisting machine are mounted, for noise abatement purposes, in vibration insulated relationship to the frame of the machine, to all spindle units adjacent the other side of the machine, and preferably also to other spindle units adjacent the same side of the machine. The spindle units are so mounted by a plurality of rigidly constructed but resiliently supported mounting assemblies. Each assembly includes an elongate spindle supporting member extending longitudinally of the twisting machine adjacent one or the other side thereof, and at least one transverse stabilizing member extending laterally inwardly therefrom toward, but terminating short of, the opposite side of the machine.

  • Patent number: 3936995
Abstract: A frame for a textile machine such as a spinning frame, a twisting machine or a rewinding machine, which includes a series of similar stations, said frame comprising a hollow rectilinear central girder having support elements, such as bosses, webs, notches, and bores, which are integral parts of the girder and are adapted to support, directly and with great accuracy, the parts of the various stations of the machine. The girder is preferably made up of a plurality of lengths fitted together end to end, preferably with end faces perfectly perpendicular to the general direction of the girder. The girder may be cast or extruded.
