Abstract: A bracket and open back junction box assembly allows simplified wiring at a construction site. An open back junction box including a detachable and reattachable rear cover plate is pre-assembled with a plaster ring, electrical device, and leads, at a prefab facility. A Metal Clad (MC) cable may be attached to the open back junction box and wires carried in the MC Cable may be connected to the leads. A mounting bracket is generally sandwiched between the open back junction box and the plaster ring for mounting to framing members at the construction site. Following assembly at the prefab facility, the prefab open back junction box is shipped to the construction site where the bracket and open back junction box assembly is mounted to framing members. Connections to wires carried by MC Cables are then facilitated by removing the rear cover plate to access the open back junction box interior.

Abstract: Methods for wavelength filtering and structures for accomplishing the same. Wavelength filtering includes forming grooves in a waveguide to define angled surfaces in a path of the waveguide; forming a reflective layer on the angled surfaces; depositing cladding material on top of the waveguide and on the angled surfaces; forming a filter layer on an active region of an opto-electronic device, which transmits a single wavelength and reflects other wavelengths used; depositing the opto-electrical device on the cladding layer such that the filter layer is aligned with a point of incidence of a light beam reflected from the reflective layer; and electrically bonding the opto-electronic device to vias in the waveguide structure.

Abstract: A circuit includes a structure for inhibiting dendrite formation. The circuit includes a first electrode disposed within a first area of the circuit, wherein the first electrode is configured to be coupled to an ionic source that forms ions when a first electric potential is applied to the first electrode. The circuit also includes a second electrode disposed within a second area of the circuit. The second electrode is configured to receive a second electric potential that is less than the first electric potential and that causes the ions to migrate toward the second electrode to contribute to dendrite formation. The circuit further includes a structure disposed within a third area of the circuit. The structure is configured to receive a third electric potential to create a barrier that inhibits the migration of at least some of the ions from the first to the second electrode to inhibit dendrite formation.

Unlike the traditional method for manufacturing printed circuit substrate using a patterning agent or device, the method of the present invention only incorporates a simple printing process using an inkjet printer, and thus patterning can be simplified and various types of chips can be manufactured depending on the assembly type of electrode patterns. Accordingly, inexpensive, economical, and highly utilizable microfluidic chips can be provided using the method of the present invention.
