Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling element for a magnetic gear having a coupling element for coupling magnetic flux between first and second movable members, each having an array of magnetic poles arranged thereon. The coupling element is formed from a sheet of magnetically permeable material and incorporates coupling portions and support portions integrally formed together. The coupling element sheet can be rolled into a cylindrical shape and used as the coupling element in a magnetic gear as described above. Optionally, the magnetic gear is decoupleable by virtue of the coupling element being arranged such that an external magnetic field can be selectably applied to it, thereby causing saturation and resultingly substantially preventing coupling of magnetic flux between the first and second members.

Abstract: The invention discloses a bone plate manufacturing method comprising an image acquisition step, an image reconstruction step, a comparison step, a data retrieval step, a model designing step and a bone plate manufacturing step. The image acquisition step acquires an original 3D craniofacial image. The image reconstruction step uses an image processing system to perform image reconstruction of the original 3D craniofacial image to obtain a reconstructed 3D craniofacial image, wherein the image processing system comprises a plurality of mechanical data. The comparison step compares the original 3D craniofacial image with the reconstructed 3D craniofacial image and defines the image difference therebetween as a defected portion. The data retrieval step retrieves a portion of the mechanical data and defines a mechanical compensation area on the reconstructed 3D craniofacial image. The model designing step designs a bone plate mold. The bone plate manufacturing step manufactures a bone plate.

Abstract: A method of hydro-forming an elongated tubular member that has areas of predicted high strain and areas of predicted low strain. The tubular member is initially deformed into a preliminary preform shape by compression in a preform die. Metal in the areas of predicted low strain is stretched during the preforming process by radially deforming the tube between two halves of the preform die. The preliminary preform is then expanded with internal hydro-forming pressure to form a preformed tube. The preformed tube is then hydro-formed into a final die to form the final shape for the part. The extra metal in the areas of low strain is stretched into the areas of high strain in the final hydro-forming operation.

The bullet resistant material that we wish to present will be made out of a strain hardened carbon steel. Strain hardening will provide for a stronger material. In addition, carburization will supply extra strength. A special technique of production needed to manufacture our bullet resistant material will also be presented in this document. The product proposed by us can easily be used as armor for tanks, planes, helicopters, ships, and any protective walls, such as in bunkers. Abstract: A resection guide locator includes a bone engagement portion with surfaces that are complementary to the surface topographies of a bone to be resected during surgery. A housing includes a socket defined by a resilient annular wall that is sized and arranged so to accept a resection guide by press-fit to thereby position and hold the resection guide within he socket. The resection guide is maintained in a predetermined, preferred position while the surfaces are releasably locked in position on the bone. A method is disclosed for forming and using the resection guide locator.
