  • Patent number: 11596754
Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide communications among respiratory therapy device (“TD”), server and intermediary (e.g., a control device (“CTLD”) for the therapy device) to improve security. More secure communication channel(s) may be established using shared secrets derived with different channels. The communications may include transmitting therapy data from TD to server for authentication. The CTLD may receive the data and a nonce from a server. The CTLD receives from the TD a signing key dependent on the nonce and a secret shared by TD and server. The CTLD generates an authorisation code with received therapy data and the key for authentication of the data by the server upon its receipt of the code and data. The server computes (1) a key from the nonce and the secret known to TD, and (2) another authorisation code from received therapy data and the key. Data authentication may involve comparing received and computed codes.

Abstract: A method and an assembly for securing a crimped medical device over a deflated balloon of a balloon catheter is provided. The medical device is positioned in its expanded state over the deflated balloon of the balloon catheter, and is then crimped over the deflated balloon. First and second eyelets of first and second strings, respectively, are then threaded through first and second rings, respectively, that are provided on the medical device. Next, a locking wire is advanced through a lumen defined between the sheath and the catheter body to exit the distal end of the sheath, and then advanced through the first and second eyelets and into the distal tip of the balloon catheter. The sheath is then advanced over the crimped medical device to the distal tip to completely cover the crimped medical device.

Abstract: A biological signal of a subject is acquired so as to calculate biological information from the acquired biological signal. When the biological information has been determined to be anomaly, whether the biological information is one that was calculated under a high-accuracy condition is determined. When the biological information is determined to be one that was calculated under the high-accuracy condition, a notice is given based on a first criterion. In the other cases, a notice is given based on a second criterion. Thereby, it is possible to provide an abnormality notification system that can give a necessary notification appropriately while suppressing unnecessary notification, by changing the criteria for notification in accordance with the accuracy of the determined biological information when the biological information of the subject was determined to be anomaly.

  • Patent number: 11552775
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for clock synchronization in half-duplex communication systems. Devices in a half-duplex system are synchronized based on time stamp values captured by each device that define a specified period of time that is of equal in length. The specified period of time spans two change-over periods to average the jitter and/or drift that occurs during each period. Each device uses these measured lengths to determine the variance in the rates at which the two internal clocks operates, which is then used to synchronizes the internal clocks of the two devices.

  • Patent number: 11551815
Abstract: A user interface for clinical personnel provides selectable views of a plurality of medical risk scores. Questions whose answers are needed for calculation of those risk scores are asked in a question and answer area of the user interface, which allows some questions to be answered based on real time patient physiological data streams that are overridable by user provided answers. Where multiple risk score calculations require answers to the same question, the user provided answer may be supplied as an answer to the corresponding question for each risk score, rather than requiring the user to answer multiple times. Sparklines may be provided with the displayed risk scores to show trends in the risk score values, and may be updated in real time based on real time physiological data streams. The display of risk scores may visually distinguish between risk scores that have been validated and those are based on unvalidated answers to the questions.

Abstract: A system and method for non-invasively monitoring the hemodynamic state of a patient by determining on a beat-by-beat basis the ratio of lusitropic function to inotropic function as an index of myocardial well-being or pathology for use by clinicians in the hospital or by the patient at home. In one embodiment of the system a smartphone running an application program that is connected through the internet to the cloud processes electronic signals, first, from an electrocardiogram device monitoring electrical cardiac activity, and second, from a seismocardiogram device monitoring mechanical cardiac activity in order to determine such ratio as an instantaneous measurement of the hemodynamic state of the patient, including such states as sepsis, myocardial ischemia, and heart failure.

A computer platform receives, for the clinical trial, study design information including a set of parameters and corresponding parameter values related to travel constraints of a subject for the clinical trial. The computer platform applies the study design information and the corresponding parameter values to a trained machine learning model to calculate a predicted travel score indicative of a travel burden for the subject. When the travel score fails to satisfy a travel score threshold, the computer platform determines at least one suggestion for adjusting the travel score and the at least one suggestion is output. The computer platform outputs the predicted travel score.
